Abstract

This research aims to develop and see the potential impact of a valid and reliable mathematical literacy instrument in the context of Krakatoa Cilegon batik on junior high school students. The subjects of this research were students at SMPN 1 Cilegon. This research refers to Research and Development (R&D) using the Plomp development model with 5 stages, namely self-evaluation, expert reviews, one to one, small group, and field test. This research produced 8 mathematical literacy instrument questions in the context of Batik Krakatoa Cilegon which correspond to the level of mathematical literacy according to PISA and are valid and reliable. The instrument developed has a potential impact on students' ability to: (1) use simple basic algorithms; (2) follow instructions clearly involving graphs/tables/images; (3) using two sources of information; (4) describe and use representations; (5) able to think computationally and visualize; (6) integrating different information representations including symbolic/graphical; (7) solve complex problems, identify or implement constraints; (8) understand abstract problems that show creativity.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan melihat dampak potensial instrumen literasi matematis dengan konteks batik Krakatoa Cilegon yang valid dan reliabel pada siswa SMP. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa di SMPN 1 Cilegon. Penelitian ini mengacu pada Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp dengan 5 tahapan yaitu self-evaluation, expert reviews, one to one, small group, dan field test. Penelitian ini menghasilkan 8 soal instrumen literasi matematis dengan konteks Batik Krakatoa Cilegon yang sesuai dengan tingkat literasi matematis menurut PISA serta valid dan reliabel. Instrumen yang dikembangkan mempunyai dampak potensial kemampuan siswa dalam: (1) menggunakan algoritma dasar secara sederhana; (2) mengikuti instruksi dengan jelas yang melibatkan grafik/tabel/gambar; (3) menggunakan dua sumber informasi; (4) menggambarkan dan menggunakan representasi; (5) mampu berpikir komputasi dan visualisasi; (6) mengintegrasikan representasi informasi yang berbeda termasuk simbolik/grafis; (7) memecahkan masalah yang kompleks, mengidentifikasi atau menerapkan batasan; (8) memahami permasalahan abstrak yang menunjukkan kreativitas.
