Abstract

This research aims to describe the differences between Perplexity AI media and Chat GPT media, differences between high and low critical thinking abilities, interactions between AI media and critical thinking abilities, differences between Perplexity AI and Chat GPT media in groups of students who have high critical thinking abilities, differences in media Perplexity AI and Chat GPT in groups of students who have low critical thinking abilities, differences between high critical thinking abilities and low critical thinking abilities using Perplexity AI media, differences between high critical thinking abilities and low critical thinking abilities using Chat GPT media on students' explanatory text writing skills class XI MAN 2 Serang City. This research is a type of experimental research with a 2 x 2 factorial design. The population in this research is students of class used as an explanatory text writing test and a critical thinking ability test. Data analysis used 2-way ANOVA and processed using the SPSS version 23 program. The research results show (1) There is a significant difference between Perplexity AI media and Chat GPT media. This is proven by the value of count > table or 4,134 > 1.701. (2) There is a difference between students who think highly critically and those who think low critically, from data processing the value obtained is tcount > table, or 12.026 > 1.461. (3) There is a difference between the Perplexity AI media and students who think highly critically and the Chat GPT media who think highly critically. The results of data analysis obtained a value of tcount > ttable, or 2.647 > 1.943. (4) There is a difference between the Perplexity AI media and students who have low critical thinking and the Chat GPT media who have low critical thinking. The results of data analysis obtained a value of tcount > ttable, or 3,193 > 1.943. (5) There is a difference in Perplexity AI media between students who have high critical thinking abilities and students who have low critical thinking abilities. The results of data analysis obtained a value of tcount > ttable, or 2.485 > 1.943. (6) There is a difference in GPT Chat media between students who have high critical thinking abilities and students who have low critical thinking abilities. The results of data analysis obtained a value of tcount > ttable, or 3.998 > 1.943. (7) There is an interaction between Artificial Intelligence (AI) media and critical thinking skills on students' explanatory text writing skills. The results of data analysis obtained a value of Fcount > Ftable, or 4.472 > 3.74. It can be concluded that using Artificial Intelligence (AI) media can improve explanatory text writing skills and stimulate students' critical thinking abilities.

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2 x 2. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MAN 2 Kota Serang, sampel penelitian dipilih dua kelas yaitu XI IPS 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dan XI IPS 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen 2. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes menulis teks eksplanasi dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA 2 jalur serta diolah menggunakan program SPSS versi 23.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara media Perplexity AI dengan media Chat GPT. Hal ini dibuktikan dari perolehan nilai thitung > ttabel atau 4.134 > 1,701. (2) Terdapat perbedaan antara siswa yang berpikir kritis tinggi dengan yang berpikir kritis rendah, dari pengolahan data didapat nilai thitung> ttabel, atau 12,026 > 1,461. (3) Terdapat perbedaan media Perplexity AI dengan siswa yang berpikir kritis tinggi dengan media Chat GPT yang berpikir kritis tinggi, hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai thitung > ttabel, atau 2,647 > 1,943. (4) Terdapat perbedaan media Perplexity AI dengan siswa yang berpikir kritis rendah dengan media Chat GPT yang berpikir kritis rendah, hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai thitung > ttabel, atau 3.193 > 1,943. (5) Terdapat perbedaan media Perplexity AI siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi dengan siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritisrendah. hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai thitung > ttabel, atau 2,485 > 1,943. (6) Terdapat perbedaan media Chat GPT siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi dengan siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis rendah. hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai thitung > ttabel, atau 3,998 > 1,943. (7) Terdapat interaksi antara media Artificial Intelligence (AI) dan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa, hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai Fhitung > Ftabel, atau 4,472 > 3,74. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan media Artificial Intelligence (AI dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi dan merangsang kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.
