Abstract
The incidence of hypertension is expected to increase to 1.56 billion adults by 2025. Hypertension causes the heart to work harder to circulate blood throughout the body through the blood vessels. Hypertension can be controlled if the patient has the motivation to follow a low-salt diet by managing a good and correct eating pattern. This study aims to describe the theory and application of knowledge deficit nursing care for hypertensive clients using leaflet education in the Serang City Community Health Center area. The research method used was qualitative research with a case study research design using a nursing care approach which includes nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing intervention, nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation. The subjects of this research were two hypertensive clients who experienced knowledge deficit problems in the Serang City Community Health Center area. The research results obtained were that there was an increase in knowledge in client 1 with the pre-test results before being given education correct 1 out of 10 questions and the post-test results after being given education correct 10 out of 10 questions as well as client 2 who got the pre-test score correct 1 out of 10 questions. 10 questions and post-test 10 out of 10 questions. After conducting research, it can be concluded that education about a low salt diet can overcome the problem of knowledge deficit in both clients, so the researchers suggest that clients can apply what they have learned after being given education.

| Additional Information: | Kejadian hipertensi diperkirakan akan meningkat 1,56 miliar orang dewasa pada tahun 2025. Keadaan hipertensi mengakibatkan jantung bekerja lebih keras untuk mengedarkan darah ke seluruh tubuh melalui pembuluh darah. Hipertensi bisa dikontrol jika pasien memiliki motivasi untuk menjalankan diet rendah garam dengan mengatur pola makan yang baik dan benar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran teori dan aplikasi mengenai asuhan keperawatan defisit pengetahuan pada klien hipertensi dengan edukasi leafleat di wilayah puskesmas serang kota. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain penelitian studi kasus melalui pendekatan asuhan keperawatan yang meliputi pengkajian keperawatan, diagnosa keperawatan, intervensi keperawatan, implementasi keperawatan, dan evaluasi keperawatan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua klien hipertensi yang mengalami masalah defisit pengetahuan di wilayah Puskesmas Serang Kota. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu adanya peningkatan pengetahuan pada klien 1 dengan hasil pre-test sebelum diberikan edukasi benar 1 dari 10 soal dan hasil post-test setelah diberikan edukasi benar 10 dari 10 soal begitupun dengan klien 2 yang mendapat skor pre-test benar 1 dari 10 soal dan post-test 10 dari 10 soal. Setelah dilakukan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui edukasi tentang diet rendah garam dapat mengatasi masalah defisit pengetahuan pada kedua klien sehingga peneliti menyarankan agar klien bisa menerapkan apa yang sudah didapat setelah diberikan edukasi. | |||||||||
