Abstract
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a condition where blood sugar levels exceed normal limits, more than 200 mg/dl. The International Diabetes Federation (2019) found an increase in diabetes cases in Indonesia from 10.7 million in 2019 to 13.7 million in 2030. This study aims to understand the overview of nursing care for diabetes mellitus with diabetes diet education in the Serang Kota Community Health Center area. The research method used is qualitative research with a case study design through a nursing care approach including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation of care. The subjects of this study are two families with 2 members suffering from diabetes mellitus experiencing knowledge deficits in the Serang Kota Community Health Center area. The research results show an increase in knowledge for clients 1 and 2, with client 1 correctly answering 5 out of 10 questions in the pre-test before receiving education and correctly answering 10 out of 10 questions in the post-test, while client 2 answered 3 out of 10 questions correctly in the pre-test and 9 out of 10 questions correctly in the post-test after receiving education. It can be concluded that through diabetes diet education, knowledge deficits in both clients can be addressed.

| Additional Information: | Diabetes mellitus tipe 2 merupakan penyakit kadar gula yang melebihi dari batas normal lebih dari 200 mg/dl. International Diabetes Federation (2019), menemukan adanya peningkatan kasus DM di Indonesia dari 10,7 juta pada tahun 2019 menjadi 13,7 juta pada tahun 2030. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran mengenai asuhan keperawatan diabetes melitus dengan edukasi diet diabetes melitus di wilayah Puskesmas Serang Kota. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain penelitian yaitu studi kasus melalui pendekatan asuhan keperawatan yang meliputi pengkajian, diagnosa, intervensi, implementasi, dan evaluasi keperawatan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua keluarga dengan 2 anggota penderita diabetes melitus yang mengalami masalah defisit pengetahuan di wilayah Puskesmas Serang Kota. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan klien 1 dan klien 2 dengan hasil klien 1 menjawab pre-test sebelum diberikan edukasi benar 5 dari 10 soal dan hasil posttest setelah diberikan edukasi benar 10 dari 10 soal, klien 2 menjawab pre-test sebelum diberikan edukasi benar 3 dari 10 soal dan hasil post-test setelah diberikan edukasi benar 9 dari 10 soal. Setelah dilakukan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui edukasi diet diabetes melitus dapat mengatasi masalah defisit pengetahuan pada kedua klien. | |||||||||
