Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of the independent curriculum which is structured more simply and in depth because it focuses more on essential and relevant material so that students can actively explore actual issues. In everyday life there are social issues related to science, one of which is the increasing volume of waste. From this background, SSI-based teaching materials are needed. Apart from that, there are not many teaching materials that link Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) and PLTSa. Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the feasibility of SSI-based physics teaching materials on the theme of Waste Power Plants (PLTSa) to facilitate students' critical thinking skills. This R&D research uses the ADDIE model. This research has developed SSI-based printed physics teaching materials on heat and thermodynamics which are categorized as very feasible. In the process, development is carried out through three stages, namely analysis, design and development. The subjects of this research were 30 students of class XI.A2 SMA Negeri 6 Tangerang City. The data collection instrument uses a questionnaire. Data analysis uses quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results of material expert validation obtained a percentage of 89% with a very feasible category, media expert validation obtained a percentage of 89% with a very feasible category. The student response obtained was 85% in the very interesting category.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi penerapan kurikulum merdeka disusun secara lebih sederhana dan mendalam karena lebih terfokus kepada materi esensial dan relevan agar siswa dapat secara aktif mengeksplorasi isu-isu aktual. Di kehidupan sehari-hari terdapat isu sosial yang berkaitan dengan sains, salah satunya volume sampah yang terus meningkat. Dari latar belakang tersebut, dibutuhkan bahan ajar yang berbasis SSI. Di samping itu, belum banyak bahan ajar yang mengaitkan Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) dan PLTSa. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kelayakan bahan ajar fisika berbasis SSI pada tema Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Sampah (PLTSa) untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian R&D ini menggunakan model ADDIE. Penelitian ini telah mengembangkan bahan ajar fisika bentuk cetak berbasis SSI pada materi kalor dan termodinamika yang berkategorikan sangat layak. Dalam prosesnya, pengembangan dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu analisis, desain, dan pengembangan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa kelas XI.A2 SMA Negeri 6 Kota Tangerang. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Analisis data menggunakan analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil validasi ahli materi diperoleh persentase sebesar 89% dengan kategori sangat layak, validasi ahli media diperoleh persentase sebesar 89% dengan kategori sangat layak. Respon siswa yang didapatkan yaitu sebesar 85% dengan kategori sangat menarik.
