Abstract

This research was carried out on the basis of students' low student learning outcomes in mathematics learning. One of the factors that is the reason for low student learning outcomes is the use of inappropriate learning models. This makes students less trained in the habit of applying concepts in learning. One learning model that can help is the team games tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model. By implementing this learning model, students can not only practice problem-solving skills in everyday life, but students can also express their opinions regarding the concepts being studied. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the TGT type cooperative learning model on students who use the learning model that is often used in schools, namely conventional. This research was carried out at SMK Negeri 5 Serang City. The method used is a quasi-experiment with an experimental design involving 2 groups, namely pre-test-posttest control group design. The sample in this study was 72 grade X students selected using cluster random sampling. The data collection method in this study was obtained from students' initial ability tests, students' final ability tests and student response questionnaire data related to the TGT cooperative learning model. The results of the research reveal that TGT type cooperative learning model has a positive effect on student learning outcomes.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan atas dasar rendahnya hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Salah satu faktor yang menjadi alasan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa yaitu penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang tepat. Hal tersebut membuat siswa kurang terlatih dalam pembiasaan penerapan konsep didalam pembelajaran. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat membantu yaitu model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT). Dengan penerapan model pembelajaran tersebut siswa tidak hanya dapat melatih kemampuan pengerjaan soal dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, tetapi siswa juga dapat mengemukakan pendapatnya terkait konsep yang dipelajari. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatid tipe TGT dengan siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran yang sering digunakan disekolah yaitu konvensional, hasil belajar yang dimaksud adalah prestasi belajar dan afektif siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMK Negeri 5 Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuasi ekperimen dengan dengan rancangan desain eksperimen yang melibatkan 2 kelompok yaitu pre-test-postest kontrol group design (rancangan kelompok dengan pretes dan postes). Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 72 siswa kelas X yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling, Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari tes kemampuan awal peserta didik, tes kemampuan akhir peserta didik serta data angket afektif siswa terkait model pembelajaran pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT. Hasil dari penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar siswa.
