Abstract
The objective of this study is to elucidate the forms and meanings of slang used in the headlines of the December 2022 edition of Catch Me Up. This study uses qualitative research methods, as it focuses on presenting data in its natural state and illustrating it in the form of words. Data collection is conducted using metode simak with teknik sadap as the basic technique and advanced techniques such as teknik simak bebas libat cakap and teknik catat. The data for this research were sourced from the headline news articles featured on the Catch Me Up! website throughout the month of December 2022. To process the data, the researcher utilized data triangulation techniques by selecting three investigators each possessing expertise in their respective fields. The research results reveal that the headlines in the December 2022 edition of Catch Me Up! contain 34 instances of slang and can be classified as follows: (1) abbreviation forms with 13 data; (2) contraction forms with 5 data; (3) acronym forms with 9 data; and (4) clipping forms with 7 data.

| Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan makna slang dalam berita utama pada situs Catch Me Up! edisi Desember 2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif karena penelitian ini berfokus pada penunjukan data yang apa adanya dan digambarkan dalam bentuk kata-kata. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan menggunakan metode simak dengan teknik dasar sadap dan teknik lanjutan teknik simak bebas libat cakap dan teknik catat. Sumber data penelitian ini berasal dari berita utama dalam situs Catch Me Up! selama bulan Desember 2022. Setelah data terkumpul, peneliti melakukan pengolahan data dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi data dengan cara memilih tiga orang penyidik yang memiliki keahlian dalam bidangnya. Dari hasil penelitian terlihat adanya bentuk bahasa slang dalam berita utama pada situs Catch Me Up! edisi Desember 2022 sebanyak 34 data dan dapat diperinci sebagai berikut: (1) bentuk kata singkatan sebanyak 13 data; (2) bentuk kata kontraksi sebanyak 5 data; (3) bentuk kata akronim sebanyak 9 data; dan (4) bentuk kata penggalan sebanyak 7 data. | |||||||||
