Abstract
This research is motivated by the problem of low student learning outcomes and less student involvement in the learning process of science learning. This is because use student learning method that uses monotoune lecture by the teacher. Therefore, to solve this problem researchers will using project based learning methods. The subjects in this research is 35 students of class VI SDN Sumuranja 2, Pulo Ampel district. This research aims to improve science learning outcomes and determine the activity of students in science learning. Method of this research using Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted for 2 cycles, which each cycle is consist of 2 meets. The instruments used are tests, observations, and field notes. The results of this research are laerning outcomes in science learning have increased. In the pre-cycle mastery learning students only 43%. Then on the first cycle of mastery learning students increased to 57% and the second cycle also increased to 83%. The results of this research also are actitivities of student in science learning have increased. In the first cycle of student activities has increased only 46,8% and student activities at the end of the second cycle also increased to 82,1%. This research concluded that learning by using project based learning can improve learning outcome and activity of the students.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya masalah yaitu rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA dan keterlibatan siswa yang kurang pada proses pembelajaran. Hal ini disebabkan karena penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan metode ceramah oleh guru. Oleh karena itu, untuk memecahkan permasalahan tersebut peneliti menggunakan metode pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah 35 siswa kelas VI SDN Sumuranja 2 Kecamatan Pulo Ampel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan mengetahui aktivitas siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 2 siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes, observasi, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari presentase jumlah siswa yang mencapai nilai KKM mengalami peningkatan dari pra siklus sebesar 43%, siklus I sebesar 57% dan siklus II mencapai 83%. Selain itu, hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan adanya peningkatan aktivitas siswa. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari hasil rata-rata siklus I sebesar 46,8% dan pada siklus II menjadi 82,1%. Penelitian ini dapat menyimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran berbasis proyek dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa pada kelas VI SDN Sumuranja 2. | |||||||||
