Abstract
This research aims to determine the relationship between parental parenting perspectives and adolescent self-confidence. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach with a correlational research type. Apart from that, this research used a random sampling technique to determine the sample. The sample for this research was 146 students from a total population of 229 students. Based on the analysis results from hypothesis testing using the product - moment formula for the two variables, the correlation coefficient value was obtained (r_xy = 0.459) and a significance value of p = 0.000 (< 0.05) and according to the correlation coefficient interpretation guidelines it is in the medium category. If the parenting implemented by parents is good, the teenagers’ self – confidence will be good and tend to be high, but on the other hand, if the parenting implemented by parents is not good, then teenagers’ self – confidence will tend to be low.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perspektif pengasuhan orang tua dengan kepercayaan diri remaja. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional. Selain itu penelitian ini menggunakan teknik random sampling untuk menentukan sampel. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 146 siswa dari jumlah total populasi sebanyak 229 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari uji hipotesis menggunakan rumus product-moment dari kedua variabel, memperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi (r_xy = 0.459) dan nilai signifikasi p = 0.000 (< 0.05) dan menurut pedoman interprestasi koefisien korelasi masuk dalam kategori sedang. Jika penerapan pengasuhan yang diterapkan orang tua baik, maka kepercayaan diri remaja pun akan baik dan cenderung tinggi, namun sebaliknya jika pengasuhan yang diterapkan orang tua kurang baik, maka kepercayaan diri remaja pun akan cenderung rendah. | |||||||||
