Abstract

This research was carried out on the basis of students' low understanding of mathematical concepts in mathematics learning. One of the factors that is the reason for students' low understanding of mathematical concepts, especially junior high school students, is the use of inappropriate learning models. This makes students less trained in the habit of applying concepts in learning. One learning model that can help is the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model assisted by ISpring Suite. By implementing this learning model, students can not only practice problem-solving skills in everyday life, but students can also express their opinions regarding the concepts being studied. This learning model is also supported by the ISpring suite which can help students practice applying concepts with various evaluation quizzes. The aim of this research is to determine the achievement of understanding mathematical concepts of students who use the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model assisted by ISpring Suite with students who use the learning model that is often used in schools, namely Discovery Learning. This research was carried out at SMP Negeri 14 Cilegon City. The method used is a quasi-experiment with an experimental design involving 2 groups, namely pre-test-posttest control group design (group design with pretest and posttest). The sample in this study was 60 grade 7 students selected using cluster random sampling. The data collection method in this study was obtained from students' initial ability tests, students' final ability tests and student response questionnaire data related to the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model. The results of the research reveal that achieving understanding of mathematical concepts is better using the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model compared to the Discovery Learning learning model.
