Abstract

Soil is an important element in construction projects and must hava a high bearing capacity so that it can support the structure above it. Civil construction, whethers roads, biuldings or other structures, will last a long time if one of the factors is that it is supported by good subgrade. The road location in Sudimanik Village has soil that is classified as expansive clay, which has a high ability to swell and shrink due to changes in water content. One way to improve unstable soil is to add additional materials such as Fly Ash and Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS). The purpose of this research is to determine the characteristics of the soil based on the classification and physical properties of the soil using the Unified Soil Classification System method and to determine the characteristics of the soil and the effect of adding consistent variations of fly ash at 20% and variations in the GGBFS percentage of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% as additional material for soil stabilization to the unconfined compressive strength value with varying curing times of 0, 7, 14 and 28 days. The results of this research obtained a soil classification according to the USCS classification as OL or inorganic silt and very fine sand, rock powder or fine silty or clayey sand. The plasticity index value after the research was 12.69%, in variation E, which is the addition of 20% fly ash and 30% GGBFS. The optimum qu value is found in variation E with a curing time of 28 days, 2.287 kg/cm2. And experienced an increase in the qu value of 295.918% from the original soil condition.

Additional Information: Tanah merupakan salah satu unsur penting dalam proyek konstruksi dan harus memiliki daya dukung yang tinggi agar dapat menopang struktur diatasnya. Konstruksi sipil baik jalan, gedung, maupun struktur lainnya akan dapat bertahan lama jika salah satu faktornya adalah didukung oleh tanah dasar yang baik. Pada lokasi Jalan di Desa Sudimanik ini memiliki tanah yang tergolong lempung ekspansif, yang memiliki kemampuan kembang susut yang tinggi akibat adanya perubahan kadar air. Salah satu cara untuk memperbaiki tanah yang tidak stabil adalah dengan menambah material tambahan seperti Fly Ash dan Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik tanah berdasarkan klasifikasi dan sifat fisik tanah dengan metode Unified Soil Classification System dan mengetahui karakteristik tanah dan pengaruh penambahan variasi fly ash yang konsisten pada 20% dan variasi persentase GGBFS 0%, 10%, 20%, dan 30% sebagai material tambahan untuk stabilisasi tanah terhadap nilai kuat tekan bebas dengan variasi waktu pemeraman 0, 7, 14 dan 28 hari. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh klasifikasi tanah menurut klasifikasi USCS tergolong OL atau tanah lanau tak organik dan pasir sangat halus, serbuk batuan atau pasir halus berlanau atau berlempung. Nilai indeks plastisitas setelah penelitian adalah 12,69%, pada variasi E yakni penambahan fly ash 20% dan GGBFS 30%. Nilai qu optimum terdapat pada variasi E dengan waktu pemeraman 28 hari, yaitu 2,287 kg/cm2. Dan mengalami kenaikan nilai qu sebesar 295,918% dari kondisi tanah asli.
