Abstract

Economic growth is an indicator of the success of a region in the process of economic development. This study aims to identify the effect of balancing funds, the contribution of the agricultural sector, the open unemployment rate and government financial performance to economic growth on the island of Sumatra. The panel data model with the fixed effect model is used for data from 10 provinces from 2014 to 2022. Based on the results of the partial test (t-test) it shows that the effectiveness ratio has a significant positive effect on economic growth. The estimation results also show that balancing funds, the contribution of the agricultural sector, the open unemployment rate have a significant negative effect on economic growth. While the efficiency ratio has no significant effect on economic growth. In addition, based on the results of the simultaneous test (FTest) it shows that the variable balance funds, the contribution of the agricultural sector, the open unemployment rate, the ratio of degrees of fiscal decentralization, the ratio of effectiveness, and the ratio of efficiency have a significant effect on economic growth on the island of Sumatra for the period 2014 to 2022.
