Abstract
This research aims to obtain in-depth information regarding the determinants of the process of forming students' character. The character formation process that will be studied includes what characters students have. Apart from that, supporting and inhibiting factors will also be studied in shaping students' character. The approach used in this research is qualitative research using the case study method. This research was carried out at SMKN 1 Padarincang with informants, the principal, head of student affairs, head of curriculum, head and teachers with Electrical Power Installation Engineering skills competency and students with Electrical Power Installation Engineering skills competency. The technique for determining informants uses snowball sampling. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model with the help of ATLAS TI 9 software. The res ults obtained in this research are (1) The process of forming students' character in the Electrical Power Installation Engineering skills competency, which is integrated with learning, habituation, extracurriculars and school management. The character values obtained by students are the values of discipline, courtesy, honesty, responsibility, self-confidence, cooperation and creativity; (2) Supporting factors for the process of forming student character include teachers with character, society, the will of students, school and family; (3) Factors inhibiting the process of forming students' character, namely teachers who are less active, the school environment, the desires of students, family, and inadequate infrastructure.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi yang mendalam mengenai determinan proses pembentuk karakter peserta didik. Proses pembentuk karakter yang akan diteliti meliputi karakter apa yang dimiliki peserta didik. selain itu, akan diteliti pula faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat dalam membentuk karakter peserta didik. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Penelitian ini dilaksakanan di SMKN 1 Padarincang dengan informan kepala sekolah, waka kesiswaan, waka kurikulum, ketua dan guru kompetensi keahlian Teknik Instalasi Tenaga Listrik dan peserta didik kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Instalasi Tenaga Listrik. Teknik penentuan informan menggunakan snowball sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman dengan berbantuan software ATLAS TI 9. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini yaitu (1) Proses pembentuk karakter peserta didik pada kompetensi keahlian Teknik Instalasi Tenaga Listrik yaitu terpadu dengan pembelajaran, pembiasaan, ekstrakurikuler, dan manajemen sekolah. Nilai-nilai karakter yang diperoleh peserta didik yaitu nilai displin, sopan santun, kejujuran, tanggung jawab, percaya diri, kerjasama, dan kreativitas; (2) Faktor pendukung proses pembentuk karakter peserta didik diantaranya guru yang berkarakter, masyarakat, kemauan peserta didik, sekolah, dan keluarga; (3) Faktor penghambat proses pembentuk karakter peserta didik yaitu guru yang kurang aktif, lingkungan sekolah, keinginan peserta didik, keluarga, dan sarana prasarana yang kurang memadai. | |||||||||
