Abstract

This research examines the influence that profitability and leverage have on firm value as mediated by dividend policy. The research uses quantitative methods by examining comparative cause-and-effect relationships, using secondary data from the financial reports of each company, either taken from the company's official website or from the IDX. Sampling in this study used non-probability with a purposive sampling technique at coal and lignite subsector companies listed on the IDX for the 2017-2022 period with complete financial data. The research data is in the form of panel data which is analyzed using Eviews 12 with analysis stages, namely, descriptive statistics, regression model estimation, classical assumptions, panel data regression to path analysis using the Sobel test. The analysis shows: profitability and leverage have a significant positive effect on firm value, dividend policy does not affect firm value, profitability cannot influence dividend policy, leverage increases dividend policy, then dividend policy cannot mediate the effect of profitability but can mediate the effect of leverage on firm value.

Additional Information:	Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh yang diberikan profitabilitas dan leverage terhadap nilai perusahaan yang dimediasi oleh kebijakan dividen. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan mengkaji hubungan sebab-akibat komparatif, dengan menggunakan data sekunder dari laporan keuangan masing- masing perusahaan, baik yang diambil dari webset resmi perusahaan ataupun dari BEI. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan non probabilitas dengan teknik purposive sampling pada perusahaan subsektor batu bara dan lignit yang terdaftar di BEI periode 2017-2022 dengan data keuangan yang lengkap. Data penelitian berupa data panel yang dianalisis menggunakan Eviews 12 dengan tahapan analisis yaitu, statistik deskiptif, estimasi model regresi, asumsi klasik, regresi data panel hingga analisis jalur menggunakan uji sobel. Analisis menunjukan: profitabilitas dan leverage berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan, kebijakan dividen tidak mempengaruhi nilai perusahaan, profitabilitas tidak mampu mempengaruhi kebijakan dividen, leverage meningkatkan kebijakan dividen, kemudian kebijakan dividen tidak dapat memediasi pengaruh profitabilitas tetapi dapat memediasi pengaruh leverage terhadap nilai perusahaan.
