Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan Grammarly terhadap keterampilan menulis surat pribadi siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 1 Kabupaten Tangerang karena siswa lebih banyak membawa ponsel pintar ke sekolah untuk bermain game online dibandingkan digunakan untuk belajar. Cluster sampling, semacam sampling probabilitas, digunakan untuk membagi subjek penelitian menjadi dua kelas. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan desain non-equivalent pre and post test dengan desain quasi eksperimen. Sebagai pre-test dan post-test, tes diberikan dua kali kepada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Data dievaluasi menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney untuk mengkonfirmasi hipotesis pre-test dan post-test kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Hasil uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antar kelas yang signifikan secara statistik, dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa Asymp.sig (2-tailed) adalah 0,001 < 0,05, yang menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis Ha didukung. Peneliti tertarik mendengar perspektif tambahan guru mengenai studi terkait.

Additional Information: The researcher found problem that students are able to bring their smartphones to school to play online games rather than using them for study, so the research's goal was to determine the impact of Grammarly application on the students' personal letter writing skills in 11th grade at the SMK Negeri 1 Kabupaten Tangerang. Cluster sampling, a sort of probability sampling, was used to divide the subject of the research into two classes. In this study, non-equivalent pre- and post�test designs were used in a quasi-experimental design. As a pre-test and post-test, the test was administered twice to the experimental and control groups. The data were evaluated using independent t-test to confirm the post-test hypotheses of the experimental and control groups. The results of the independent t-test indicated that there were differences between those classes that were statistically significant, and the result showed that Sig(2-tailed) was 0.001 > 0.05, indicating that the Ha hypothesis was supported. The researcher is interested in hearing additional teacher perspectives on related studies.
