Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Know, Want, Learn (KWL) learning methods and students' interest in reading towards Reading Comprehension learning outcomes. The research method uses an experimental design by treating groups of students (treatment) using the Know, Want, Learn (KWL) learning method, while for the control class using the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) method. Data collection techniques to obtain groups of students who have high reading interest and low reading interest by giving a questionnaire using a Likert scale, while to obtain learning outcomes data using achievement tests or final tests. Data analysis techniques are done by analysis of variance (Anova) two-way with significance level = 0.05 or 5%. The first hypothesis is that there are differences in students' Reading Comprehension learning outcomes between learning using the Know, Want, Learn (KWL) learning method and learning using the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) method, which is stated by the results of the Turkey Qh test 6.6 ≥ Qt 3.85. The second hypothesis There are differences in students' reading comprehension learning outcomes between those with high reading interest and low reading interest expressed by the results of the Turkey Qh test 4.75 ≥ Qt 3.85. The third hypothesis is the interaction between the learning methods using the Know, Want, Learn (KWL) Learning Method and students who have an interest in reading in Reading Comprehension statistically, the interaction is described as F count = 1.07 ≥ F table = 3.85. The fourth hypothesis is that there are differences in the learning outcomes of Reading Comprehension students who have high reading interest who participate in learning using the Know, Want, Learn (KWL) Learning Method compared to learning using the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) method, statistically the effect can be expressed by the results Turkey test is Qh = 5.82> Qt = 2.98. The fifth hypothesis is that there is a difference in the Reading Comprehension results of students with low reading interest who take part in learning using the Know, Want, Learn (KWL) Learning Method compared to learning using the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) method with the Turkey test results Qh = 6.29 > Qt = 2.89

Hipotesis pertama terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar Reading Comprehension siswa antara pembelajaran menggunakan metode Pembelajaran Know, Want, Learn (KWL) dan pembelajaran menggunakan metode Think-Pair-Share (TPS) dengan dinyatakan dengan hasil uji Turkey Qh 6,6 ≥ Qt 3,85. Hipotesis kedua Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar Reading Comprehension siswa antara yang minat membaca tinggi dan minat membaca rendah dinyatakan dengan hasil uji Turkey Qh 4,75 ≥ Qt 3,85. Hipotesis ketiga terdapat interaksi antara metode pembelajaran yang menggunakan Metode Pembelajaran Know, Want, Learn (KWL) dengan peserta didik yang memiliki minat membaca dalam pembelajaran Reading Comprehension secara statistik interaksi digambarkan F hitung = 1.07 ≥ Ftabel = 3,85. Hipotesis keempat terdapat perbedaan pada hasil belajar Reading Comprehension siswa yang minat membaca tinggi yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan Metode Pembelajaran Know, Want, Learn (KWL) dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran menggunakan metode Think-Pair-Share (TPS), secara statistik pengaruh tersebut dapat dinyatakan dengan hasil uji Turkey adalah Qh = 5,82 > Qt = 2,98. Hipotesis kelima terdapat perbedaan pada hasil Reading Comprehension siswa yang minat membaca rendah yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan Metode Pembelajaran Know, Want, Learn (KWL) dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran menggunakan metode Think-Pair-Share (TPS) dengan hasil uji Turkey adalah Qh = 6,29 > Qt = 2,89
