Abstract
Seagrass ecosystems has an important function in maintaining the stability of marine ecosystems and supporting the availability of food sources through small-scale fisheries activities around seagrass ecosystems. The purpose of this study is to analyze the Habitat Structure Index (HSI) on the seagrass ecosystem in Tanjung Lesung Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province. The research was conducted at four stations which select using purposive sampling method, with each station consisting of three sub-stations. HSI method is carried out by analyzing the level of seagrass cover on each transect line (20 x 1 x 1 m), then analyzing based on HSI parameters namely area, proximity, continuity, percentage cover and species identity. The measured water parameters were dissolved oxygen, temperature, salinity, and degree of acidity. The results show that the total area of seagrass is low, which only has an average of 11.9/100. In general state of seagrass patches was classified as many with a maximum of 6 plots found in one transect line. The value of seagrass cover was low with an average cover of 21.5%. There are 6 species of seagrass in Tanjung Lesung i.e Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea serrulata, Cymodocea rotundata, Halodule uninervis, Halophila ovalis, Enhalus acoroides. The seagrass ecosystem has poor categorized with an average HSI score of 47.3 (scale 0 – 100) with the highest HSI score being at station two where this station has a score of 58.9/100.

Additional Information: | Tanjung Lesung merupakan daerah yang berada di sebelah barat Pulau Jawa bagian selatan yang berhadapan langsung dengan selat Sunda. Salah satu ekosistem utama yang ada di pesisir Tanjung Lesung adalah lamun. Pasca tsunami 2018, luas padang lamun di Tanjung Lesung berubah. Perubahan ini termasuk berkurangnya tutupan dan kerapatan lamun, hilangnya spesies H. uninervis, peningkatan rasio biomassa BG/AbG lamun kering, dan peningkatan kandungan lempung lanau dalam sedimen lamun. Penelitian terkait kualitas habitat ekosistem lamun pasca tsunami 2018 perlu segera dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas ekologi ekosistem lamun dengan menggunakan metode Habitat Structure Index (HSI) di Perairan Tanjung Lesung Kabupaten Pandeglang, Provinsi Banten. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret 2023. Lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di Tanjung Lesung Kabupaten Pandeglang, Provinsi Banten. Metode yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Metode Habitat Structure Index (HSI) dilakukan dengan cara menganalisis kadar tutupan lamun pada tiap garis transek (20 x 1 x 1 m), lalu dilakukan analisis berdasarkan parameter HSI yaitu area, proximity, continuity, percentage cover dan species identity. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total luas area lamun tergolong rendah dengan rata-rata sebesar 11,9%. Keadaaan patch lamun di Tanjung Lesung tergolong banyak dengan ditemukan maksimal 6 petak dalam satu garis transek. Nilai tutupan lamun tergolong rendah dengan rata-rata 21%. Terdapat 6 jenis lamun yang dapat ditemukan di Perairan Tanjung Lesung, yaitu Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea serrulata, Cymodocea rotundata, Halodule uninervis, Halophila ovalis, Enhalus acoroides. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan analisis HSI didapatkan skor sebesar 47,3/100. | |||||||||
