Abstract
Covid-19 (Corona Virus Diseases – 19), which was originally a frightening specter for mankind, because at the beginning of its appearance all activities were paralyzed immediately. In a short time this virus spread to Indonesia. For Indonesia, there were 5,974,646 positive cases as of March 22, 2022, with 5,639,029 declared recovered and 154,062 declared dead (covid19.go.id). The impact of Covid-19 has been felt in the education sector. All places of study, both schools, colleges and tutoring places, have changed the learning method from face-to-face meetings to online (online). This incident requires parents to have a dual role as well as being a teacher. As time goes by, we are now faced with a transitional period from Pandemic to Endemic. Slowly everything is back to normal including school. Parents and children returned to their activities as before. The purpose of this study was to determine the interpersonal communication behavior of working parents and school children during the transition from the pandemic to the endemic of Covid-19 in Serang City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a Interpretive approach. Methods of data collection in the form of in-depth interviews, observation, and literature study. Researchers use the theory of Interpersonal Communication from DeVito. The results of this study are that each parent and child has different interpersonal communication behaviors depending on the situation, conditions and communication climate in their respective families. Happiness was the response of each parent and child when school was again conducted face-to-face. Various motivations and encouragement were given by parents to their children to be more active and enthusiastic about going to school during this transitional period towards endemic. Interpersonal communication between working parents and children has not changed much from the pandemic to the Covid-19 endemic.

| Additional Information: | Covid-19 (Corona Virus Diseas – 19), suatu yang awalnya menjadi momok menakutkan bagi umat manusia, karena diawal kemunculannya seluruh aktivitas menjadi lumpuh seketika. Dalam waktu yang singkat virus ini menyebar hingga Indonesia. Untuk di Indonesia terdapat 5.974.646 kasus positif per tanggal 22 Maret 2022, dengan 5.639.029 dinyatakan sembuh dan 154.062 dinyatakan meninggal dunia (covid19.go.id). Imbas dari Covid-19 terasa pada sektor pendidikan. Seluruh tempat belajar baik sekolah, perguruan tinggi hingga tempat les mengubah metode belajar dari pertemuan tatap muka menjadi daring (online). Kejadian ini mengharuskan para orang tua untuk memiliki peran ganda sekaligus menjadi guru. Seiring dengan berjalannya waktu, kini kita dihadapkan dengan masa transisi dari Pandemi menuju Endemi. Perlahan semuanya kembali normal termasuk sekolah. Para orang tua dan anak kembali menjalani aktivitas seperti semula. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perilaku komunikasi interpersonal orang tua bekerja dan anak sekolah di masa transisi dari pandemi menuju endemi Covid-19 di Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan pendekatan interpretif. Metode pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi, serta studi pustaka. Peneliti menggunakan teori Komunikasi Antar Pribadi dari DeVito. Hasil penelitian ini adalah tiap orang tua dan anak memiliki perilaku komunikasi interpersonal yang berbeda-beda tergantung dengan situasi, kondisi dan iklim komunikasi pada keluarga masing-masing. Kebahagiaan menjadi respon tiap orang tua dan anak ketika sekolah kembali dilakukan secara tatap muka, berbagai motivasi dan dorongan diberikan orang tua kepada anak agar lebih giat dan semangat bersekolah di masa transisi menuju endemi ini. Komunikasi Interpersonal antar orang tua bekerja dan anak tidak banyak berubah dari masa pandemi menuju endemi Covid-19 ini. | |||||||||
