Abstract
This research aims to the analyze the use of the ELSA app in teaching pronunciation skills to 11th-grade students at SMAN 6 in Serang City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, involving observation, interviews, and documentation. The study involved 39 students as participants in the learning process using the ELSA app. Data was collected through direct observation of the teaching process using the ELSA app, interviews with teachers and students regarding their experiences with the app, and documentation in the form of assessments before and after using the ELSA app. Data analysis was conducted using a qualitative approach, by collecting findings from observations, interviews, and documentation, as well as interpreting and analyzing those findings. The results of the research showed that the use of the ELSA app has a positive impact on students' pronunciation skills. Through this app, students can practice and improve their pronunciation abilities with the help of feedback provided by the app. Additionally, active participation by students in using the ELSA app also enhances their motivation and confidence in mastering English pronunciation skills. This research also revealed some challenges in using the ELSA app. Some students experienced difficulties in operating the app and understanding the feedback provided. Limited access to technology devices and stable internet connections also posed obstacles to the app's usage. This research provides important contributions in understanding the effectiveness of using the ELSA app in teaching English pronunciation skills. The implications of this research include the need for training and support for teachers to integrate this app into their teaching and expanding access to technology for students to optimize their use of the app.
