Abstract
This research aims to describe the use of grammatical cohesion markers of reference in the novel Cintaku di Kampus Biru by Ashadi Siregar. These markers of grammatical cohesion of reference include: persona, demonstrative, and comparative. The research method employed in this study is the distributional method. The data are analyzed using substitution technique, conjunction technique, and ellipsis technique, all of which are encompassed within the distributional method. These three techniques from the distributional method are applied to the language relevant to the researched topic. Data collection is conducted through library study technique, observation technique, and note-taking technique. Based on the results of this research, the following findings were revealed: (1) The use of grammatical cohesion markers of reference, including: first person plural pronouns; second person singular pronouns; third person singular and plural pronouns; locative demonstratives; general demonstratives; and comparatives. (2) The quantity of pronoun forms used in the novel is predominantly informal. (3) The use of comparative reference forms is frequently encountered, serving to help readers depict comparisons of experiences or knowledge that readers possess in relation to a specific event or situation.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penggunaan penanda kohesi gramatikal referensi dalam novel Cintaku di Kampus Biru karya Ashadi Siregar. Penanda kohesi gramatikal referensi tersebut meliputi: persona, demonstratif, dan kompartif. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode agih. Data di analisis dengan teknik ganti, teknik balik, dan teknik lesap yang ketiga teknik ini ada dalam metode agih. Ketiga teknik dari metode agih tersebut digunakan dalam penerapan bahasa yang bersangkutan dengan penelitian yang diteliti. Cara pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik studi pustakaan, teknik simak, dan teknik catat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini ditemukan; (1) Penggunaan penanda kohesi gramatikal referensi, meliputi: pronomina persona pertama jamak; pronomina persona kedua tunggal; pronomina persona ketiga tunggal dan jamak; demonstratif tempat; demonstratif umum; dan komparatif. (2) Banyaknya kuantitas penggunaan wujud pronomina yang ada di dalam novel tersebut bersifat informal. (3) Banyak ditemui pemakaian bentuk referensi komparatif seperti untuk membantu pembaca menggambarkan perbandingan suatu pengalaman atau pengetahuan yang dimiliki oleh pembaca pada suatu peristiwa atau situasi. | |||||||||
