Abstract
Incinerator is a machine that uses an incineration system by burning waste at a high temperature at 600oC – 1000oC, so that the waste turns into ashes. But there is also Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) to convert flammable waste from solid waste into fuel. The purpose of this study was to determine the RDF moisture content, RDF calorific value and exhaust emissions of RDF combustion in incinerators. The research methodology used was an experimental method with a composition of RDF 4.7 kg of paper and 0.3 kg of plastic with variations in time during drying 3 days (3H), 4 days (4H) and 5 days (5H). The combustion method is a batch system with the blower valve fully open. The results showed that the water content values of RDF 3H, 4H and 5H were 8.6%, 8.4% and 7.4%. While the heating values of RDF 3H, 4H and 5H were 3726.23 kCal/kg, 3917.67 kCal/kg and 4101.7 kCal/kg. Exhaust gas emissions from RDF 3H combustion are 0.465% CO, 287.267ppm HC and 5.06% CO2. While the exhaust gas emissions from RDF 4H combustion are 0.456% CO, 266.8ppm HC, and 3.246% CO2. And the exhaust gas emissions from RDF 5H combustion are 0.24% CO, 92.6ppm HC and 2.88% CO2.

Additional Information: | Incinerator adalah alat yang menggunakan sistem insinerasi dengan membakar sampah pada temperatur tinggi 600oC – 1000oC, sehingga sampah berubah menjadi abu. Terdapat juga Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) untuk mengubah sampah yang mudah terbakar dari sampah padat menjadi bahan bakar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kadar air RDF, nilai kalor RDF dan emisi gas buang pembakaran RDF pada incinerator. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimental dengan komposisi RDF 4,7 kg kertas dan 0,3 kg plastik dengan variasi waktu selama penjemuran 3 hari (3H), 4 hari (4H) dan 5 hari (5H). Metode pembakaran adalah sistem batch dengan bukaan katub blower terbuka penuh. Hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai kadar air dari RDF 3H, 4H dan 5H yaitu 8,6%, 8,4% dan 7,4%. Sedangkan nilai kalor dari RDF 3H, 4H dan 5H yaitu 3726,23 kCal/kg, 3917,67 kCal/kg dan 4101.7 kCal/kg. Emisi Gas buang hasil pembakaran RDF 3H yaitu CO 0,465%, HC 287,267ppm dan CO2 5,06%.
