Abstract

The background of the problem is the lack of community participation in educational programs, the lack of effective leadership of school principals in organizing school institutions, the quality of education in Indonesia is low. As the head of an educational institution, the principal is required to be able to formulate various policies related to the implementation of the school's vision and orientation in creating effective and efficient education. The school committee must work closely with the school principal to address the shortage of school facilities and infrastructure to support school operations. Without community involvement and support, schools will not be successful in promoting activities that support school learning. Community involvement in school policy can benefit the community itself in the short, medium and long term. The committee is a school partner who can provide input from the wishes or voice of the community into operational policies, education programs and school management. This study aims to analyze and describe the influence of the role of school committees and school principal leadership on the quality of elementary school education in Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency. The formulation of the problems of this research are (1) Is there any influence of the school committee's role on the quality of elementary school education in Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency?; (2) Is there any influence of the principal's leadership on the quality of elementary school education in Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency?; (3) Is there any influence on the role of the school committee and the leadership of the school principal on the quality of elementary school education in Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency? The researcher chose a public elementary school in Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, because the role of the committee, the leadership of the school principal and the quality of education were not optimal. The method used in this research is the ex post facto quantitative method with a total population of 23 public elementary schools with a total of 292 teachers and the sample was taken using the Proportional Random Sampling technique to 74 people. Data collected by questionnaire technique. Three hypotheses were formulated and tested using Regression Analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 22. The results showed that (1) the role of the school committee has a strong influence on the quality of education. This is evidenced by the known correlation coefficient value of 0.664 or equal to 66.4% (2) the leadership of the school principal has a strong influence on the quality of education. This is proven by knowing the correlation coefficient of 0.957 or 95.7% and (3) the role of the school committee and the leadership of the school principal together have a strong influence on the quality of education. This is evidenced by knowing the value of the correlation coefficient of 0.0.964 or 96.4%.

Additional Information: Latar belakang masalah kurangnya peran serta masyarakat dalam program pendidikan, kurang efektifnya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam mengorganisir lembaga sekolah, mutu pendidikan yang ada di indonesia rendah. Sebagai pimpinan lembaga pendidikan, kepala sekolah dituntut mampu merumuskan berbagai kebijakan yang berhubungan dengan pelaksanaan visi dan orientasi sekolah dalam menciptakan pendidikan yang efektif dan efesien. Komite sekolah harus bekerja sama dengan kepala sekolah untuk mengatasi kekurangan sarana dan prasarana sekolah untuk mendukung operasional sekolah. Tanpa keterlibatan dan dukungan masyarakat, sekolah tidak akan berhasil mempromosikan kegiatan yang mendukung pembelajaran sekolah. Keterlibatan masyarakat dalam kebijakan sekolah dapat menguntungkan masyarakat itu sendiri dalam jangka pendek, menengah, maupun panjang. Komite merupakan mitra sekolah yang dapat memberikan masukan keinginan atau suara masyarakat ke dalam kebijakan operasional, program pendidikan dan manajemen sekolah. Penelitian ini betujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh peran komite sekolah dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap mutu pendidikan sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Kelapa Dua Kabupaten Tangerang. Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah (1) Apakah terdapat pengaruh peran komite sekolah terhadap mutu pendidikan sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Kelapa Dua Kabupaten Tangerang?; (2) Apakah terdapat pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap mutu pendidikan sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Kelapa Dua Kabupaten Tangerang?; (3) Apakah terdapat pengaruh peran komite sekolah dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap mutu pendidikan sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Kelapa Dua Kabupaten Tangerang?. Peneliti memilih Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kecamatan Kelapa Dua Kabupaten Tangerang Provinsi Banten karena peran komite, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan mutu pendidikan yang belum optimal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif ex post facto dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak 23 Sekolah Dasar Negeri dengan jumlah 292 guru dan diambil sampel dengan menggunakan teknik Proportional Random Sampling menjadi 74 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik kuesioner. Tiga hipotesis diformulasikan dan diuji menggunakan Analisis Regresi menggunakan IBM SPSS Statistics 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) peran komite sekolah memiliki pengaruh yang kuat terhadap mutu pendidikan. Ini dibuktikan dengan diketahuinya nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,664 atau sama dengan 66,4% (2) kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memiliki pengaruh yang kuat terhadap mutu pendidikan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan mengetahui koefisien korelasinya sebesar 0,957 atau 95,7% dan (3) peran komite sekolah dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh yang kuat terhadap mutu pendidikan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan diketahuinya nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,0,964 atau 96,4%.
