Abstract
Self-image is how an individual can describe himself through an assessment of his own body or physique, to express how he 'self' is in the eyes of the world, an individual expresses it through the help of social media, namely Instagram. Instagram has many features, one of which is often used is Instagram Story. The facilities that are owned, namely photos and instastories provide opportunities to interact in cyberspace to respond by giving a love icon, then there is a direct massage column providing input for those who have the Instagram account and other features such as filters that can support self-image. The focus of this research is to find out how the process of forming self-image through social media Instagram is for the master of ceremony. This study uses qualitative research methods, with data management analysis using in-depth interviews with informants, namely professional MCs who actively upload insta stories on Instagram accounts. The results of this study indicate that the process of forming self-image consists of Perception Cognition Attitude Motivation and Perceptual Component Conceptual Component Attitudinal Component factors that can influence, namely in the formation of self-image.

Additional Information: | Citra diri merupakan bagaimana seorang individu dapat menggambarkan dirinya melalui penilaian tentang tubuh atau fisiknya sendiri, untuk memberitahukan bagaimana ‘diri’nya di mata dunia. Seorang individu dapat memberitahukannya melalui bantuan media sosial yakni Instagram. Instagram memiliki banyak fitur, salah satu yang sering digunakan adalah Instagram Story. Instagram story memberikan peluang untuk berinteraksi di dunia maya, memberikan respon dengan memberikan tanda suka, lalu ada kolom direct massage memberikan masukan bagi yang memiliki akun Instagram tersebut serta fitur lainnya seperti filter yang dapat menunjang citra diri. Fokus penelitian ini ingin mengetahui bagaimana proses pembentukan citra diri Proffesional Master of Ceremony melalui fitur Instagram Story yang ada pada media sosial Instagram. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, dengan analisis pengelolaan data menggunakan teknikwawancara terhadap informan yakni Alam Putra yang memiliki profesi sebagai Professional Master of Ceremony (MC) yang aktif mengunggah Instagram Story di akun Instagram miliknya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa dengan mengunggah konten melalui media Instagram story, Alam Putera telah melakukan Image Building. Proses pembentukan citra diri terdiri dari Persepsi, Kognisi, Motivasi, Sikap. Adapun faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi terhadap pembentukan citra diri tersebut diantaranya Perceptual Component, Conceptual Component, dan Attitudinal Component. | |||||||||
