Abstract

The ability to understand is part of 21st Century mathematics learning. In March 2020, Indonesia was hit by a virus known as Covid-19, this virus broke out so quickly that it led to the enactment of a policy of Restrictions on Community Activities, where people were required to carry out all activities at/from home, including in the field of Education. After 2 years of learning from home, many previous lessons were not completed properly so that students had less understanding. This is certainly a big problem in learning mathematics because some materials are prerequisite materials, then how to understand students' mathematical concepts in post-pandemic learning. This research aims to find out the students’ ability to understand mathematical concepts of SMPN 1 Anyar in post-pandemic covid-19 learning. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with students of IX-C SMPN 1 Anyar as the participants. The data were collected from a test form of 7 description questions and a semi-structured interview as a non-test instrument. The results of the student's mathematical concept understanding ability test are found to be two students with very good categories, three students with good categories, eight student with medium categories, there are nine students with low categories, and ten students with very low categories. Thus, it can be concluded that the students’ mathematical understanding ability of SMPN 1 Anyar in post-Covid-19 pandemic learning is still relatively low.

Additional Information: Kemampuan pemahaman merupakan bagian pembelajaran matematika Abad 21. Pada Maret 2020, Indonesia dilanda sebuah virus yang dikenal dengan nama Covid-19, Virus ini mewabah dengan sangat cepat sehingga menyebabkan diberlakukannya kebijakan Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat, dimana rakyat diwajibkan buat menjalankan semua kegiatan di/dari rumah, termasuk dalam bidang Pendidikan. Setelah 2 tahun pembelajaran dirumahkan banyak pembelajaran sebelumnya yang tidak terselesaikan dengan baik sehingga siswa memiliki pemahaman yang kurang. Hal ini tentunya menjadi masalah yang cukup besar dalam pembelajaran matematika karena beberapa materi merupakan materi prasyarat, lalu bagaimana kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada pembelajaran pasca pandemic. Adapun penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMPN 1 Anyar pada pembelajaran pasca pandemi covid-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas IX-C SMPN 1 Anyar. Instrumen yang digunakan ialah instrument tes berupa 7 soal uraian dan instrument nontes berupa wawancara semi-terstruktur. Hasil tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa ialah didapati dua siswa dengan kategori sangat baik, tiga siswa dengan kategori baik, delapan siswa dengan kategori sedang, sembilan siswa dengan kategori rendah, dan sepuluh siswa dengan kategori sangat rendah. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa SMPN 1 Anyar pada pembelajaran pasca pandemic Covid-19 tergolong masih rendah.
