Abstract

ABSTRACT Car and motorcycle engines require gasolines are in accordance with the design of the machine itself to work well and produce optimal performance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the fuel consumption on a 4-cylinder 2000cc engine by using the variation of the octane premium fuel used 88 octane, 92 octane pertamax and pretamax plus 95 octane degan sourced from Pertamina gas stations, the engine speed, 1000, 2000,3000 and 4000 rpm. . From the research, obtained the lowest fuel consumption on a machine that uses a rotation 1000 rpm, which is a premium fuel, with the condition that is equal to 2105gr / h, then the use of more fuel-efficient pertamax 8.78% and the yield of 1935gr / h, then by the use of more efficient pertamax plus 8.50% that is equal to 1940 g / h. Furthermore, the engine speed of 4000 rpm using premium fuel that is equal to 3072 g / h while using more fuel-efficient pertamax 92 27.46% with a yield of 2410gr / h, then use pertamax plus increased 26.62% which resulted in at 2426gr/h. . ABSTRAK Mesin mobil maupun motor memerlukan jenis bensin yang sesuai dengan desain mesin itu sendiri agar bekerja dengan baik dan menghasilkan kinerja yang optimal. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisa konsumsi bahan bakar pada mesin 4 silinder 2000cc dengan menggunakan variasi nilai oktan bahan bakar yang digunakan premium dengan oktan 88, pertamax dengan oktan 92 dan pretamax plus degan oktan 95 yang bersumber dari SPBU pertamina, dengan putaran mesin, 1000,2000,3000 dan 4000 rpm. Dari hasil penelitian, didapat konsumsi bahan bakar terendah pada mesin yang menggunakan putaran 1000 rpm, yaitu bahan bakar premium, dengan kondisi yaitu sebesar 2105gr/h, kemudian dengan menggunakan bahan bakar pertamax lebih hemat 8,78% dan menghasilkan sebesar 1935gr/h, kemudian dengan menggunaan pertamax plus lebih hemat 8,50% yaitu sebesar 1940 gr/h. Selanjutnya dengan putaran mesin 4000 rpm menggunakan bahan bakar premium yaitu sebesar 3072 gr/h sementara menggunakan bahan bakar pertamax 92 lebih hemat 27,46% dengan menghasilkan sebesar 2410gr/h, selanjutnya menggunakan pertamax plus meningkat 26,62% yaitu menghasilkan sebesar 2426gr/h. Kata kunci : Motor Bensin, Oktan, Konsumsi Bahan Bakar.
