Abstract

The aim of the study is to reveal the empirical data about the effect of cooperative instructional and student's social attitude on the outcome of text narrative learning in the eight grade students of SMPN 204 Jakarta The methodology used is the experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. Research instrumentation included a test that was used to measure student's learning outcome, and a questionnaire was used to measure student's social attitude on narrative text outcomes. A total of 40 participants were randomly selected. Data analysis was performed by using two way variance analysis. The findings of the study demonstrate: 1) There is a significant difference of student’s outcome between those who were taught by make a match method and those who were taught by think pair share method; 2) There is a significant difference of student’s outcome between those who have high social attitude and have low social attitude; 3) There is an interaction between cooperative learning method and student's social attitude on narrative text learning outcome; 4) Text narrative learning outcome of students who were taught by make a match method is higher than those were taught by think pair share method with high social attitude; 5) There is a significant difference of student’s outcome between those who taught by make a match method with low social attitude and who taught by think pair share method with low social attitude; 6) There is a significant difference of student’s outcome between those who taught by make a match method with high social attitude and who taught by make a match method with low social attitude; 7) There is a significant difference of student’s outcome between those who taught by think pair share method with high social attitude and who taught by think pair share method with low social attitude.
