Film dipandang dapat membentuk dan memengaruhi masyarakat berdasarkan pesan yang ingin disampaikannya dikarenakan film selalu mengabadikan realitas yang hadir di tengah masyarakat, lalu diproyeksikan ke atas layar.Seperti film Thappad yang mengangkat masalah ketidakadilan gender pada perempuan yang terjadi dalam keseharian masyarakat.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana ketidakadilan genderpada perempuan direpresentasikan dalam film Thappad.Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif eksploratif dengan paradigma interpretif.Penelitian ini menggunakan model semiotika John Fiske yang terdiri dari tiga level, yakni level realitas, representasi, dan ideologi. Unit analisis berisi 19 scene yang merepresentasikan ketidakadilan gender pada perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ketidakadilan gender pada perempuan. Temuan tersebut mengacu pada adegan-adegan yang memperlihatkan berbagai bentuk ketidakadilan gender pada perempuan yang terdiri dari marginalisasi, subordinasi, stereotip, kekerasan, hingga beban ganda. Sebagian besar adegan yang ditampilkan pun tidak menampilkan perlawanan yang dilakukan oleh para tokoh perempuan. Kata kunci: Representasi, Ketidakadilan Gender, Perempuan, Film, Semiotika. Film is seen as a media that shapes and influences society through the message it wants to convey. This is because film always captures the reality that is happening around the society, then it is projected onto the screen. In the film Thappad, which raises the issue of gender injustice towards women that occurs daily in society. The purpose of this study is to find out how gender injustice in women is represented in Thappad. The method used is explorative-qualitative with a constructivist paradigm. This study uses John Fiske's semiotic model, which consists of three levels, namely the level of reality, representation, and ideology. The unit of analysis contains 19 scenes that represent gender injustice in women.The results showed gender injustice in women.The findings refer to scenes that show various forms of gender injustice against women, which consists of marginalization, subordination, stereotypes, violence, also to double load. The majority of the scenes don't reveal the female characters' resistance. Keywords: Representation, Gender Injustice, Women, Film, Semiotic.
