Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi sains dan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa SMA/MA se-Provinsi Banten serta mendeskripsikan hubungan antara keduanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Kemampuan literasi sains sebagai variabel bebas dan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi sebagai variabel terikat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XII IPA/MIA se�Provinsi Banten. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 320 siswa SMA/MA se-Provinsi Banten yang berasal dari 16 sekolah, setiap kabupaten/kota masing-masing diwakili oleh 1 sekolah negeri dan swasta yang ditentukan secara random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen PISA tahun 2012 dan 2015, instrumen HOTS level C4 – C6 serta angket siswa. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan uji korelasi spearman. Hasil uji korelasi spearman memperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,120. Berdasarkan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains dan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa SMA/MA se-Provinsi Banten tergolong sangat rendah dan tidak terdapat hubungan antara keduanya.

Additional Information: This research aims to describe the scientific literacy skills and higher order thinking skills in high school or Islamic school (MA) students in Banten Province and to describe the correlation between the two. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. Scientific literacy skills as the independent variable and higher order thinking skills as the dependent variable. The population in this research were all students of class XII IPA/MIA in Banten Province. The research sample consisted of 320 high school or Islamic school (MA) students in Banten Province from 16 schools, each district or city represented by one public and private school determined by random sampling. The instruments used were the 2012 and 2015 PISA instruments, HOTS instruments levels C4 - C6 and student questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the Spearman correlation. Spearman correlation test results obtained a significance value of 0.120. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the scientific literacy skills and higher order thinking skills in high school or Islamic school (MA) students in Banten Province are classified as very low and there is no correlation between the two.
