Abstract
Proses Adaptasi Sosial pada dasarnya merupakan kemampuan individu untuk bisa menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan baru, adaptasi sosial terjadi ketika individu berada di lingkungan baru dengan situasi dan kondisi yang berbeda dengan lingkungan tempat individu berasal. Adanya perbedaan kehidupan sosial maupun budaya dalam suatu lingkungan, menjadikan individu perlu menyesuaikan kembali dengan kehidupan sosial dan budaya yang sedang individu tempati di lingkungan barunya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana proses adaptasi sosial mahasiswa Papua di Kampus Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian Kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, serta subjek pada penelitian ini terdiri dari mahasiswa Papua sebagai informan inti, dan teman, dosen, serta masyarakat sekitar sebagai informan penunjang. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa adanya proses adaptasi sosial yang dilakukan mahasiswa Papua ketika berada di lingkungan kampus Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, adaptasi sosial tersebut dilakukan mahasiswa Papua melalui interaksi sosial dengan cara berkomunikasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, aktivitas diluar kegiatan pembelajaran, maupun dalam aktivitas sehari-hari untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup. Selain melalui interaksi sosial adaptasi juga direalisasikan melalui perilaku mahasiswa Papua, mereka berusaha menyesuaikan dengan budaya dan norma/aturan yang ada di lingkungan Kampus Untirta seperti mengikuti dan mentaati norma-norma tersebut. Hal ini di analisis melalui teori Fungsionalisme Struktural Talcott Parson dengan skema AGIL yaitu Adaptasi (Adaptation), Pencapaian Tujuan (Goal Attainment), Integrasi (Integration), dan Pemeliharaan pola (Latency) serta teori pendukung dari J.W. Bennet tentang strategi adaptasi yang terbagi kedalam tiga skema yaitu adaptasi perilaku, adaptasi strategi, dan adaptasi proses.

| Additional Information: | The process of social adaptation is basically an individual's ability to be able to adapt to a new environment, social adaptation occurs when individuals are placed in a new environment with circumstances and conditions that are different from the previous environment where the individual comes from. There are differences in social and cultural life in an environment, individuals required to adjust to the social and cultural life that the individual is living in the new environment. The aims of this study are to determine and describe how the social adaptation process of Papua students at the Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The researchers use qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. In this study to obtain the data observation, interviews, and recording methods were required. The main informants in this study were Papua students, with colleagues, lecturers, and the local community as supporting informants. The results of this study indicate that there is a social adaptation process carried out by Papua students while on the Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, the social adaptation is carried out by Papua students through social interaction by communicating in learning activities, activities outside learning activities, as well as in daily activities to make ends meet. Besides social interaction, adaptation is also realized through the behavior of Papua students, adapted to the culture and norms/rules such as following and obeying these norms that exist in the Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University environment. To analyzed the data, this study was used Talcott Parson's Structural Functionalism theory with the AGIL scheme, namely Adaptation, Goal Attainment, Integration, and Pattern Maintenance (Latency) as well as supporting theories from J.W. Bennet on adaptation strategies is divided into three schemes, namely behavior adaptation, strategy adaptation, and process adaptation. | |||||||||
