Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh permainan teka-teki silang terhadap penguasaan kosakata siswa di kelas tujuh SMP Negeri 03 Kota Serang. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini berdasarkan masalah penelitian “adalah ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari permainan teka-teki silang terhadap hasil belajar siswa penguasaan kosakata di kelas VII SMP Negeri 03 Kota Serang?”. Itu peneliti melakukan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen sejati. Itu populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 03 Kota Serang. Sampel penelitian adalah 60 siswa dengan teknik random sampling. Itu kelas VII G sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas VII F sebagai kelompok kontrol. Itu kelompok eksperimen menerima Permainan Teka Teki Silang. Sedangkan kontrol kelompok menerima metode konvensional (diperlakukan tanpa Teka Teki Silang Permainan). Kedua kelompok diberikan pre-test dan post-test untuk mengetahui penguasaan kosakata sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Instrumen penelitian yang yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes kosakata. Tes terdiri dari 20 item tes di pilihan ganda. Dalam pengujian hipotesis, peneliti menggunakan uji-t untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan permainan teka-teki silang terhadap penguasaan kosakata siswa. Berdasarkan hitung t-test adalah thitung 4,016 ttabel 2,004. Dengan demikian, hipotesis alternatif adalah diterima. Artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari permainan teka-teki silang terhadap penguasaan kosakata siswa.

| Additional Information: | The aim of this research was to find out the influence of crossword puzzle game toward students’ vocabulary mastery at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 03 Kota Serang. The researcher conducted this research based on a research problem “is there any significant influence of crossword puzzle game toward students’ vocabulary mastery at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 03 Kota Serang?”. The researcher conducted quantitative research by using true experimental design. The population of the research was the students at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 03 Kota Serang. The samples were 60 students by random sampling technique. The class VII G as an experimental group and class of VII F as control group. The experimental group received the Crossword Puzzle Game. While the control group received the conventional method (treated without Crossword Puzzle Game). Both groups were given pre-test and post-test to find out students’ vocabulary mastery before and after the treatment. The research instrument that used to collecting data was vocabulary test. The test consists of 20 test items in multiple choices. In testing the hypothesis, the researcher used t-test to know an effect of using crossword puzzle game on students’ vocabulary mastery. Based on calculating t-test was tcount 4.016 ˃ ttable 2.004. Thus, alternative hypothesis was accepted. It means that there was significant effect of crossword puzzle game on students’ vocabulary mastery. | |||||||||
