Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of profitability (X1), liquidity (X2) and the structure of assets (X3) to the capital structure (Y). The population that was used in this research was mining companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange period 2010 - 2014. By using total sampling methods obtained a sample of 33 companies. The analysis technique used was multiple regression analysis. The results showed that partially: 1). Profitability (ROA) was not significant positive effect on the capital structure. 2). Liquidity (CR) a significant negative effect to the capital structure. 3). Assets Structure (FAR) was not significant positive effect to the capital structure. Simultaneous hypothesis test showed that the variables of profitability, liquidity and asset structure together impact to the capital structure. The coefficient of determination was 31.8. This may imply that the profitability variable (X1), Liquidity CR (X2), and the structure of assets (X3) capable of describing or explaining 31.8% and a contribution to capital structure (Y) while the remaining 68.2% was influenced by other factors outside the research variables.
