Abstract

National roads on Jl. Sudirman, Jl. Mayjen Sutoyo and Jl. RE. Martadinata of Cilegon City, based on accident data from Laka Lantas Polres Cilegon city accident rate is quite high. Therefore it is necessary to do research that aims to determine the causes of accidents and accident-prone areas as well as the handling can be done later. The method used to determine the characteristics of the accident is the characteristic method, counting the number of accidents by using Equivalent Accidents Number (EAN) and determine the location of the accident-prone methods Upper Control Limt (UCL). The data used is data report Laka Lantas Polres Cilegon city over the last five years (2011-2015) to be grouped based on the characteristics. From the results obtained from the characteristics of the accident are: Friday 48 accidents (21%), while the light as much as 120 accidents (53%), hit the front-forward as much as 54 accidents (24%), as many as 277 motorcycle accidents (62%), minor injuries as many as 243 people (65%), as many as 418 men (95%), aged 20-29 years as many as 122 people (28%), private employees 236 people (53%), not a license as many as 243 people (55%). Based on the results of the characteristics of the accident is known that factors causing the highest accident on Jl. Sudirman, Jl. Mayjen Sutoyo and Jl. RE. Martadinata Cilegon City is due to the rider by 95%. From the analysis of the accident-prone locations (Black spots) concluded that Jl. Mayjen Sutoyo is accident-prone areas with EAN value of 878, and the value of 663.016 with a point UCL accident that the STA 0+100, STA 2+500, and STA 3+600. Handling by providing precedes lane.
