Abstract

The research was to determine how the effect of instructional media in the form of print media short stories and critical thinking about reading comprehension Skills. The research method used was quasi experiment. Population in this study were all of students tenth grade SMK Negeri 1 Bayah. Selected sampel AP grade 1 as the experimental class consisted of 20 students and AK class 1 as control class consisted of 20 students. The time of research was conducted in October to November 2015. Data collection was done with the test description and test multiple choice. Data analysis used was descriptive statistic and inferential statistic method performed by ANAVA 2 lines. The results showed that there were significant value between instructional media and reading comprehension Skills. Expressed with the test results Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and SPB IBM Versi 20.It showed that sig point for instructional media line 123.577 > 4,11. Then there is the influence of reading comprehension Skills with sig for critical thinking line is 106.625 > 4,11. And there is a significant interaction effect of instructional media and critical thinking about the reading comprehension Skills with sig is 72.674 > 4,11. Then was tukey test, and there is a difference reading comprehension Skills with print media and high critical thinking with audio media and high critical thinking showed by significant 10,640 > 4,33. There is a difference reading comprehension Skills with audio media and low critical thinking with print media and low critical thinking showed by significant 4,99 > 4,33. There was a difference reading comprehension Skills with print media and high critical thinking with print media and low critical thinking showed by significant 9,197 > 4,33. There was a difference Skills reading comprehension with audio media and high critical thinking with audio media and low critical thinking showed by significant 4,543 > 4,33.
