Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA dan masih menggunakan metode ceramah yang sering digunakan dikelas III SDN Petir 4. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe student facilitator and explaining dan mengetahui aktivitas siswa pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe student facilitator and explaining. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe student facilitator and explaining, yang dilaksanakan pada 2 siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari 2 pertemuan adanya perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes hasil belajar siswa, observasi aktivitas mengajar guru, aktivitas belajar siswa dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan, menunjukan bahwa pada siklus I siswa yang tuntas 22 siswa dari 37 siswa bila dipresentasikan 60%. Pada siklus ke 2 meningkat menjadi 34 siswa dari 37 jika dipresentasikan yaitu 92% terjadi peningkatan sebanyak 32% hal ini sesuai dengan indikator keberhasilan yang telah ditetapkan dan telah tercapai. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe student facilitator and explaining pada pembelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

This research is based on the low number of students’ learning result on natural science major which is still using speech method in learning proccess on third class of SDN PETIR 4. The purpose of this research is to find out students’ learning result on natural science major by using cooperative learning method; students facilitator and explaining type and to find out the activity of students in applying the cooperative learning method; Students Facilitator and Explaining type. This research used a classroom action research (CAR), with cooperative learning method; students facilitator and explaining type, the research used two cycle which Consist Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. The technique of data collection on this research were using students’ learning result, observation of teacher’s teaching method, students’ learning activity, and interview. Based on the result that were found from the research on cycle I, there were 22 students from 37 students in total who passed wich was 60% on percentage. On cycle II the result increased, there were 34 students from 37 students in total who passed, or 92% on percentage. The increase was 32% and it was based on the indicator of success that already decided and it was achieved. The conclusion of the research was applying cooperative learning method; students facilitator and explaining type on natural science major can increase students’ learning result.
