Abstract
Background of this research is the low students learning outcomes on social studies. Thus, the obtained conditions of student learning activities as follows: (1) Students are bored, because it becomes less attractive learning social studies (2) Students tend to still embarrassed to ask and express their opinions. The purpose of this research is to improve students' learning outcomes through the implementation of cooperative learning model type Snowball Drilling. Subjects in this study were sixth grade students of SDN Pagedangan II, the number of 34 students, consisting of 16 male students and 18 female students. This research used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) by implementing cooperative learning model type Snowball Drilling, which is implemented in two cycles in accordance with the flow chart of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. Based on the research that has been carried out, showing that the initial data or pre-cycle students’ learning outcomes seen from the daily tests, the average score of students reached 62,35, with 53% completeness criteria. First cycle test which was held on 08 September 2014, indicates that students’ learning outcomes in the first cycle reached an average value of 69,41, with 68% completeness criteria and have increased in the second cycle which was held on 15 September 2014, showed that learning outcomes of students in the second cycle reached an average value of 81,47, with 94% completeness criteria. This means that the acquisition of learning outcomes in the second cycle has reached an indicator of success is 80%. In addition, the average percentage of student activity also increased from the first cycle to the second cycle. The average percentage of students in the first cycle of activity that is 70% increase in the second cycle to 94%. The acquisition has reached a predetermined indicators of success that is equal to 80%. | Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS. Adapun kondisi aktivitas belajar siswa adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Siswa merasa jenuh, karena pembelajaran IPS menjadi kurang menarik (2) Siswa cenderung masih malu bertanya dan mengungkapkan pendapat mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPS melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Drilling. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VI SDN Pagedangan II dengan jumlah 34 siswa, terdiri dari 16 siswa laki-laki dan 18 siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Drilling, yang dilaksanakan pada dua siklus sesuai dengan alur bagan dari Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan, menunjukkan bahwa pada data awal atau pra siklus hasil belajar siswa dilihat dari nilai ulangan harian, nilai rata-rata siswa mencapai 62,35, dengan kriteria ketuntasan mencapai 53%. Tes siklus I yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 08 September 2014, menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I mencapai nilai rata-rata 69,41, dengan kriteria ketuntasan 68% dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II yaitu yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 September 2014, menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada siklus II mencapai nilai rata-rata 81,47, dengan kriteria ketuntasan mencapai 94%. Hal ini berarti perolehan hasil belajar pada siklus II sudah mencapai indikator keberhasilan yaitu 80%. Selain itu, rata-rata persentase aktivitas siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Rata-rata persentase aktivitas siswa pada siklus I yaitu 70% meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 94%. Perolehan tersebut sudah mencapai indikator keberhasilan yang telah ditetapkan yaitu sebesar 80%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Drilling pada pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS pada siswa di kelas VI. | |||||||||
