Abstract

PT.KHI Pipe Industries is one of the subsidiaries of PT.Krakatau Steel engaged in heavy industry which makes high-quality welded steel pipe. PT. KHI has 2 types of pipe making production machines, ie machines ERW (Electric Resistance Welding) and machine SPM (Spiral Pipe Machine). Physical environmental conditions in the machine ERW is one unit with a noise that exceeds the threshold value and temperature conditions in the engine is very hot ERW reaches 300C. Noise is sound or noise that is disturbing. Noise can interfere with human health so that it can be bad for workers. High temperatures can disrupt the concentration of operators in the work, so the temperature is very important because it affects the performance of the operators. This study aims to determine the influence of the physical environment of work on blood pressure and grievance of an operator. Respondents in this study amounted to 9 in 1 shift working on 3 different stations. The intensity of the noise and the temperature measured using the grid method. Data retrieval blood pressure and grievance operators carried out before and after work. Processing data using paired samples t test. Test results Paired sample t test using SPSS, a significant value of systolic blood pressure 2-tailed sig 0.041 <0.050 and diastolic 2-tailed sig 0.045 <0.050. Results of the questionnaire significant noise effect on the grievance operators 2-tailed sig 0.001 <0.050 and the questionnaire results the effect of temperature on the grievance operators 2-tailed sig 0.000 <0.050.
