Abstract

The purpose of the study (1) knowing the role of women labor in farming paddy, (2) Knowing revenue and contribution of women farmers to the total family income from paddy farming (3) Knowing the poverty level peasant family in the village of Ujungjaya District sumur. The method used is a survey method, the selection is done intentionally (purposive). Samples used as many as 69 respondents, the sampling method used in this study is stratified random sampling, methods of analysis used is descriptive method and tabulation of data. The survey results revealed an important role of women in agricultural production in paddy rice farming, it can be seen from the many phases of production activities, they have a role to start of planting, maintenance, and harvesting. The number of female workers in the use of lowland paddy farming shows that there is an opportunity for housewives to earn extra income, helping him earn a living. From the results of average farm income strata I earned USD 1.33525 million, stratum II Rp 3,135,182, the highest was in stratum III Rp 6,286,182. -rata Average revenue contribution of women farmers to the total family income is high enough, ie at the 29% level I, level II 33% and the highest at the third level of 37%. Kelurga poor farmers who once numbered 12 families or 17%. Poor families totaling 19 or 28%, almost poor family numbered 21 families or 30%, and families with enough categories totaling 17 or 25%.
