Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan komik strip untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks naratif siswa dan untuk mengetahui tanggapan tentang keuntungan dan kerugian menggunakan komik strip dalam pengajaran menulis teks naratif di kelas VIII MTs Al-Khairiyah Kepandean Ciruas. Ini Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan pre-test, post-test, dan angket sebagai instrumen penelitian. Dua dari empat kelas diambil sebagai penelitian sampel dengan menggunakan cluster sampling. Kelas tersebut dipilih sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diperlakukan dengan menggunakan Komik Strip dalam proses belajar mengajar dan kelas kontrol adalah kelas yang tidak menggunakan Komik Strip. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa penggunaan Comic Strips efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa, khususnya dalam teks narasi. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan hasil rerata skor siswa pada kelas eksperimen (70,84) lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol (12,72). Di sisi lain tangan, uji-t digunakan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan Komik Strip terhadap keterampilan menulis teks naratif siswa. Dari hasil perhitungan t-test post test diperoleh bahwa t-test lebih tinggi dari t-tabel (34,92 > 2,639). Dulu mengidentifikasi bahwa kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan dalam menulis kemampuan setelah perawatan. Artinya efektivitas penggunaan Komik Strip untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks naratif siswa. Selain itu, hasil dari kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa (87,5%) memberikan tanggapan positif menuju Komik Strip. Disimpulkan bahwa Komik Strip tidak hanya membantu mereka menulis teks naratif tetapi juga memberikan manfaat lebih dan efektif dalam proses belajar mengajar.

Additional Information: The objectives of this research were to find out the effectiveness of using comic strips to increase students‟ writing skill of narrative text and to find out the students‟ responses about the advantages and disadvantages of using comic strips in teaching writing narrative text at 8th grades of MTs Al-KhairiyahKepandeanCiruas. This research was an experimental research with pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire as instruments of the research. The two of four classes were taken as the research sample by using cluster sampling. The class was chosen as the experimental class that was treated by using Comic Strips in teaching learning process and the control class was the class that did not used Comic Strips. The result of this research revealed that the use of Comic Strips was effective to increase students‟ writing skill, especially in narrative text. It was indicated by the result of means‟ score of students in experimental class (70.84) was higher than in control class (12.72). On the other hand, t-test was used to know the effectiveness of using Comic Strips toward students‟ writing skill of narrative text. From the result of t-test calculation in post�test, it was obtained that t-test was higher than t-table (34.92 > 2.639). Itwas identified that experimental and control group has significant differences in writing ability after the treatment. It means that it was effectiveness of using Comic Strips to increase students‟ writing skill of narrative text. In addition, the result of questionnaire showed that most of the students (87.5%) gave positive responses toward Comic Strips. It concluded that Comic Strips did not only help them to write a narrative text but also give more advantage and effective in teaching learning process.
