Abstract
The purpose of this research is to improve the students' courage to speak about the subject matter that has been presented by the teacher in Social Science subject. The main topic of this research is Understanding the Occupation and the Use of Money through Cooperative Learning Model Time Token Arends at the third grade students of SD Negeri Kadu Kancas Anyer. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. In each cycle there are four phases: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research are 38 students at the third grade of SD Negeri Kadu Kancas Anyer, which consist of 16 men and 22 women. The data collecting techniques of this research are observation, test, and interview. This can be proven by the students’ condition before the treatment, whereas the average of students’ courage in arguing is 44.70 with the completeness percentage 30.43%. The first cycle shows the average students’ courage in arguing is 59.87 with the percentage of completeness 47.83%. In the second cycle, the students’ courage in arguing increases becomes 70.78 with the percentage of 86.96% completeness. The conclusion from this research is the implementation of model: Time Token Arends can improve the students’ courage to speak about the occupation and the use of money in Social Science subject.

| Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keberanian siswa untuk berbicara mengenai materi pelajaran yang telah disampaikan oleh guru pada mata pelajaran IPS Pokok Bahasan Memahami Jenis Pekerjaan dan Penggunaan Uang melalui Model Time Token Arends pada siswa kelas tiga di SD Negeri Kadu Kancas Anyer. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan dan setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap: perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 38 siswa kelas III SD Negeri Kadu Kancas Anyer yang terdiri dari 16 laki-laki dan 22 perempuan. Data teknik penelitian ini pengumpulan adalah observasi, tes, dan wawancara. Hal ini terbukti pada kondisi sebelum tindakan di mana rata-rata keberanian untuk berpendapat adalah 44,70 dengan persentase ketuntasan adalah 30,43%, siklus I menunjukkan rata-rata keberanian untuk berpendapat adalah 62,5% dengan persentase ketuntasan adalah 47,83% dan siklus II meningkat menjadi 70,78 itu dengan persentase kelengkapan 86,96%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Time Token Arends dapat meningkatkan keberanian untuk berbicara mengenai jenis pekerjaan dan penggunaan uang pada mata pelajaran IPS | |||||||||
