Abstract

Noise is the sounds that our ears are not desired. Noise in the short term may reduce quitness in workplace, distraction, balance disorder and complicate communication and increase fatigue that would degrade faulty work. Besides that, fatigue can also cause accidents. The purposes of this research were determine the effect of noise to employees fatigue at PT. Sinar Cahaya Mulya using measrement reaction time and questionnaires subjective complaints. Reaction time measurement performed on two conditions, namely the working hours in the morning when the condition of noise levels above the absolute of threshold hearing and the working hours in the daylight when the condition of noise level below the absolute of threshold hearing is 85 dB. The questionnaire subjective complaints using validity and reliability test to determine the level of validity of the questionnaire have been made. The result shows that reaction time of the morning working hours of all employees are in the category of severe fatigue, while for most of the daylight hours decreases to the category of moderate to mild fatigue. This result was also strengthened with a statistical test to determine the relationship between noise and fatigue level with correlation test to see the connection that produce value sig (2-tailed)<0.05, which means that H 0 is rejected, it show that there is a relationship between the noise fatigue and fatigue level, while the Pearson correlation produce a number that is equal to 0.646, this shows that the higher noise level and the more the rate of fatigue. The value show how strong correlation between the two variables, as well as the result paired samples t-test sig (2-tailed) is 0.000 which is less than 0.05 it means that H 0 is rejected that result showed that there were significant differences between reaction time working hours in the morning and daylight.
