Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate misconceptions and its rate concept in the selected textbook of class X Science Biology second semester used amoung teachers and students in senior high school in Cilegon and misconceptions rate on the textbook. This research was a descriptive study, which conducted in Cilegon in September 2014 to October 2014. Preliminary observations took place in five senior high school in Cilegon. Population of the study was all textbook of class X Science Biology for second semester of 2013 with the most recent issue that refers to the curriculum 2013. The sample used two different textbook based on the criteria in the population above focused on animal concept by purposive sampling technique. Percentage of error in the textbook 1 was very low categories with 9,17% and in the textbook 2 low categories with 12,5% respectively

| Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui 1) adanya kesalahan konsep pada materi hewan dalam buku ajar IPA Biologi SMA kelas X semester II terpilih yang digunakan oleh guru dan siswa di SMA Negeri Cilegon dan 2) tingkat kesalahan konsep pada materi hewan dalam buku ajar IPA Biologi SMA kelas X semester II yang terpilih. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif. Dilaksanakan di Cilegon pada bulan September 2014 sampai Oktober 2014, mengambil lokasi observasi pendahuluan di lima SMA Negeri Cilegon. Populasi penelitian ini adalah buku-buku ajar IPA Biologi SMA kelas X semester II terbitan terbaru tahun 2013 dengan kriteria buku yang mengacu pada kurikulum 2013. Sampel penelitian ini adalah dua buku ajar IPA Biologi kelas X semester II terbitan terbaru tahun 2013 dengan kriteria buku yang mengacu pada kurikulum 2013 pada materi hewan. Teknik pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling, dengan kriteria pemilihan berdasarkan jumlah pemakai buku di SMA Negeri di Cilegon. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi yang berisi matriks uraian konsep standar yang disusun berdasarkan silabus dan referensi. Kesalahan konsep terdapat di dalam buku ajar IPA Biologi SMA kelas X semester II pada materi hewan. Persentase kesalahan konsep pada buku I sebesar 9,17% atau sangat rendah, buku II sebesar 12,5% atau rendah. | |||||||||
