Abstract

DC motor is a direct current machine that converts direct current electrical energy into mechanical energy by utilizing the principle of electromagnetic induction. Series DC motor consists of a series of fields that are connected in series with the anchor . This study aims at designing a model of a DC Motor Series and designing control systems Proportional-Integral in simulink matlab to determine the characteristics of the motor and control the motor speed with process simulation in Matlab Simulink. In the simulation results that DC Motor Series models are designed in accordance with Series DC motor is used with the output of the simulation at a maximum voltage of 48 volts to get the speed of 963 rpm while the measurement results of 975 rpm. In the Series DC motor speed control, PI control capable of controlling the motor speed both during no-load or load and able to follow the desired setpoint. PI parameters obtained by manual masukkann didapatlah Kp = 0.5 and Ki = 0.0605. Parameter Kp and Ki is able to produce excellent output without Maximum Overshoot and Steady State Error.
