Abstract

Banten is a province which has a sizeable potential natural resources, The mining sector , Banten region has a lot of potential sand that can be used for the manufacture of concrete and buildings. Excess of the sand in Banten, besides accessible and cheap. Sand in Banten also has a very good quality so that the sand from Banten region has also been used outside the region are offerings for Building Construction. This research normal concrete plan to use some kind of sand in Banten, namely sand from Rangkasbitung, Ciomas and Lingkar Selatan Cilegon. Expected to be a concrete that has good quality but with not lower the value of the concrete strength . Sand used for the manufacture of concrete , namely sand and river sand from the mountains / rock often called sand suction .Number of test specimens as many as 48 pieces , with a variation of the concrete life of 3 days , 7 days , 14 days and 28 days. Tests carried out on the sand of this study include testing the water content , density volume of sand in natural state , the levels of sludge and sieve analysis . The Results of this research said normal concrete manufacture by using some kind of sand produces the different compressive strength, The average value compressive strength at age 28 days for concrete using Rangkasbitung sand (suction) with a slump value 62 mm of 19.09 MPa, Rangkasbitung sand (river) with a slump value 77 mm of 18.54 MPa , Ciomas sand with a slump value 65 mm of 19.37 Mpa, and Lingkar Selatan Cilegon sand with a slump value of 61 mm of 19.44 Mpa. Optimal results in the compressive strength of normal concrete is concrete age of 28 days using a type from Lingkar Selatan Cilegon sand of 19.44 Mpa, because at Lingkar Selatan sand having a low slump value among other types of sand that causes the value of air in the concrete cement factor is low so that the compressive strength Being The resulting optimal.
