Abstract
Communication is something that can't be separated from human life, whether it is verbal or non-verbal. Communication activity is interpersonal communication activities performed two or more persons are performed privately. The aim of this study was to determine the factors supporting activity interpersonal communication coaches and athletes Softball Cilegon well as factors inhibiting the activity of interpersonal communication coach and athlete softball Cilegon, which is to know the practice and how the activity of interpersonal communication that is used in the coaching conducted between coaches and athletes. The research method in this study used descriptive qualitative approach. That is the way to describe and discuss the problem of interpersonal communication activities softball coaches and athletes Cilegon. The process of data collection conducted by researchers is to interview, and observation. By using the theory of Spencer & Spencer competence that is as basic characteristics possessed by an individual who is related causally to meet the criteria necessary to occupy a position. This study was made to see how the interpersonal communication activities and the factors that influence the communication process. With the interpersonal communication activities, coaches are required to have effective communication skills in order to help one another in problem solving and mutual support. Supporting factors of interpersonal communication activities include openness, motivation, discipline and support. Inhibiting factors, namely the problems themselves athletes, facilities, and the lack of interaction of junior athletes.

| Additional Information: | Komunikasi merupakan hal yang tidak dapat lepas dari kehidupan manusia, baik itu secara verbal maupun non verbal. Aktivitas komunikasi merupakan kegiatan komunikasi interpersonal yang dilakukan dua orang atau lebih yang dilakukan secara pribadi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor pendukung aktivitas komunikasi interpersonal pelatih dan atlet Softball Kota Cilegon serta faktor penghambat aktivitas komunikasi interpersonal pelatih dan atlet softball Kota Cilegon, yaitu untuk mengetahui praktik dan cara aktivitas komunikasi interpersonal yang digunakan dalam kegiatan kepelatihan yang dilakukan antara pelatih dan atlet. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Yaitu dengan cara menggambarkan dan membahas masalah aktivitas komunikasi interpersonal pelatih dan atlet softball Kota Cilegon. Proses pengumpulan data yang dilakukan peneliti yaitu dengan wawancara, dan observasi. Dengan menggunakan teori kompetensi dari Spencer & Spencer yaitu sebagai karakteristik dasar yang dimiliki oleh seorang individu yang berhubungan secara kausal dalam memenuhi kriteria yang diperlukan dalam menduduki suatu jabatan. Penelitian ini di buat guna melihat bagaimana aktivitas komunikasi interpersonal dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi proses komunikasi itu. Dengan adanya aktivitas komunikasi interpersonal, pelatih dituntut memiliki kemampuan komunikasi yang efektif agar saling membantu dalam pemecahan masalah dan saling memberi dukungan. Faktor pendukung dari aktivitas komunikasi interpersonal meliputi keterbukaan, motivasi, kedisiplinan dan dukungan. Faktor penghambatnya yaitu permasalahan diri atlet, fasilitas, dan kurangnya interaksi dari atlet junior. | |||||||||
