Abstract

The low level of students’ scientific literacy highlights the need for innovative and contextual learning media. This study aims to develop the Augmented Reality Educational Strategy (ARES) and determine its feasibility, student responses, and its effectiveness in improving scientific literacy on semiconductor material. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model approach. The sample consisted of 28 twelfth-grade students from SMA Negeri 8 Pandeglang. The research instruments included expert validation questionnaires (content and media), student response questionnaires, and pretest-posttest assessments. The validation results indicate that ARES is in the “highly feasible” category, with strong ratings from expert validators. Student responses were also very positive, and the implementation of learning was carried out effectively. The results of the analysis show that the average pretest score is 21.53 while the posttest is 63.87. With an N-Gain score of 0.51, the results indicate an increase in students' scientific literacy with moderate interpretation, this score is effective in increasing scientific literacy. Therefore, ARES is considered appropriate and effective as an innovative learning medium to enhance students’ scientific literacy on semiconductor concepts.

Additional Information: Rendahnya literasi sains siswa menunjukkan perlunya media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Augmented Reality Educational Strategy (ARES) dan mengetahui kelayakannya, respon siswa, dan efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan literasi sains pada materi semikonduktor. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan pendekatan model ADDIE. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 28 siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 8 Pandeglang. Instrumen penelitian meliputi angket validasi ahli (konten dan media), angket respon siswa, dan asesmen pretest-posttest. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa ARES berada pada kategori “sangat layak”, dengan penilaian yang baik dari validator ahli. Respon siswa juga sangat positif, dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran berjalan efektif. Hasil Analisis menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pretest 21,53 sedangkan posttest 63,87. Dengan skor N-Gain 0,51, dari hasil tersebut terjadi peningkatan literasi sains peserta didik dengan interpretasi sedang, skor tersebut efektif untuk meningkatkan literasi sains. Oleh karena itu, ARES dinilai tepat dan efektif sebagai media pembelajaran yang inovatif untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa pada konsep semikonduktor.
