Abstract

The growing population of South Tangerang City is accompanied by an increasing demand for transportation modes, resulting in a large increase in vehicles growth, leading road capacity to become unbalanced with traffic flow. The purpose of this study is to predict the performance of road segments under current conditions and anticipated conditions over the next 5 years, as well as evaluate various road performance strategies. The data used comprises South Tangerang City's population and vehicle growth statistics, speed data, geometric circumstances, and the maximum peak hour traffic. The data was then processed using PKJI 2023 and the VISSIM application to determine the status of the road stretch. The study found that, under current conditions, the maximum peak hour volume was 1209.9 skr/h between 04:00PM and 05:00PM, with a mean speed of 30.64 km/h and a DS value of 0.87. Under present conditions, each of the methods, PKJI 2023 and VISSIM modeling, indicate a road service level of E, the flow is approaching instability with traffic volume nearing capacity, implying that road performance needs to be improved. There are alternatives to dealing with the congestion that occurs, the most significant alternative to addressing congestion is to change the traffic management system to one-way, accompanied by an increase in the median speed to 58.14 km/h. The performance data for the planned road show a DS value of less than 0,85. Based on these methods under the planned conditions, the service level of road A is indicated, with free flow with low traffic volume.
