Abstract

This research aimed to find out the effect of implementing superior classes on students' independent character. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Pandeglang in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research method used is a quantitative method with statistic descriptive. The population in this study were students in classes 8A and 9A of SMP Negeri 3 Pandeglang for the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 73 students. The results of this research show that the application of superior classes is in the sufficient category at 89.04% with a total of 65 students. Meanwhile, for independent character, students produced a category of 67.12% with a total of 49 students. By calculating the correlation coefficient, the value obtained is 0.587. Then this value is compared with a significance level of 5% for N=73 and df = N-2 =71, the figure is 0.2303 and it can be seen that 0.587 > 0.2303 so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence between the application of superior classes on students independent character.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Penerapan Kelas Unggulan terhadap Karakter Mandiri Siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 3 Pandeglang pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan statistik deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 8A dan 9A SMP Negeri 3 Pandeglang tahun ajaran 2024/2025 berjumlah 73 siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan kelas unggulan berada pada kategori cukup sebesar 89,04% dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 65 siswa. Sedangkan untuk karakter mandiri siswa menghasilkan kategori sebasar 67,12% dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 49 siswa. Dengan perhitungan koefisen korelasi yang diperoleh nilai 0,587. Kemudian nilai tersebut dibandingkan dengan taraf signifikasi 5% untuk N=73 dan df = N-2 =71 maka diperoleh angka 0,2303 dan dapat dilihat bahwa 0,587 > 0,2303 sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara Penerapan Kelas Unggulan terhadap Karakter Mandiri Siswa.
