Abstract
Title : Relationship between Mental Health and Work Performance of PT X Manufacturing Plant Employees Background: Industrial companies must be able to compete globally by paying attention to key factors in their production system, including man (human resources). In Indonesia, the manufacturing sector plays an important role in the economy, including the manufacturing industry in the Province. Factory employees often face work pressure and stress due to erratic working hours. Protection and attention to mental health needs to be improved, given its impact on employee productivity and well-being. This study aims to explore the relationship between mental health and work performance of factory employees in Banten Province. Methods: This study used an analytic observational method with a cross- sectional design to evaluate the relationship between mental health and work performance of manufacturing plant employees of PT X. The subjects were employees from one of the manufacturing plants in Banten Province. The subjects were employees of one of the largest paper packaging factories in Serang, with a sample of 396 employees selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results: The majority of respondents were male (90%), less than 45 years old (80%), and married (79%). Of the total 396 respondents, most experienced depression, anxiety, and stress disorders (56.6%, 58.8%, and 24.2% respectively). Although most respondents experienced mental health disorders, only a small proportion of them showed excellent work performance (44.2%). From a study of PT X employees, the prevalence of mental health disorders was found to be 63%. And the percentage of poor work performance correlated with anxiety (60.5%), depression (62.1%), and stress (74%). Conclusion: Mental health has a significant impact on employee work performance in the manufacturing industry.
