Abstract

Based on the issue of waste that is increasingly piling up, and based on the issue of fossil energy which is getting thinner day by day, renewable energy is needed to become a breakthrough into alternative energy that can be used as a substitute for fossil energy. The Stirling engine can be used to reduce the problem of waste while dealing with the depletion of fossil energy. Stirling engine is an external combustion engine that utilizes various kinds of heat energy for its operation. The collected waste is then burned, can be a source of heat in the operation of the stirling engine. In designing a stirling engine, it can be known in the end the factors that affect the performance of the stirling engine. This Stirling engine design method uses the house of quality method, by collecting the required information which is then produced a specification. In addition, it can use Schmidt's theory and thermodynamic approaches, a sufficiently high temperature will produce work on the Stirling engine. The specifications obtained in this study are the Stirling engine using 180 degree phase angle, using waste fuel with the assumption of burning 1m2 of waste, with engine dimensions of less than 1m2, engine weight of less than 150kg. Factors that affect the performance of the Stirling engine are temperature delta, generator pipe insulation, crankshaft cylindricity, lubrication of engine components, and the accuracy of the stirling engine crank angle.

Additional Information: Berdasarkan isu limbah sampah yang semakin hari semakin menumpuk, dan berdasarkan isu energi fosil yang semakin hari semakin menipis, energi terbarukan dibutuhkan untuk menjadi suatu terobosan menjadi alternatif energi untuk dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti energi fosil. Mesin stirling dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi permasalahan limbah sampah sekaligus menangani menipisnya energi fosil. Mesin stirling merupakan mesin pembakaran luar yang memanfaatkan berbagai macam energi kalor untuk pengoperasiannya. Sampah-sampah yang dikumpulkan kemudian dibakar, dapat menjadi sumber kalor pada pengoperasian mesin stirling. Dalam merancang mesin stirling,dapat diketahui pada akhirnya yaitu faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi performa mesin stirling. Metode perancangan mesin stirling ini menggunakan metode house of quality, dengan mengumpulkan informasi-infromasi yang dibutuhkan yang kemudian dihasilkan suatu spesifikasi. Selain itu dapat menggunakan teori Schmidt dan pendekatan-pendekatan termodinamika, temperatur yang cukup tinggi akan menghasilkan kerja pada mesin stirling. Spesifikasi yang didapat pada penelitian ini yaitu mesin stirling menggunakan suduf fasa 1800, menggunakan bahan bakar sampah dengan asumsi pembakaran sampah seluas 1m2, dengan dimensi mesin kurang dari 1m2, bobot mesin kurang dari 150kg. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi performa dari mesin stirling yaitu delta temperatur, isolasi pipa generator, kesilindrisan poros engkol, pelumasan komponen mesin, dan ketepatan sudut engkol mesin stirling.
