Abstract
Adhi Kusuma. NIM 082072. PROSES KOMUNIKASI SUKU ALOR DALAM BERADAPTASI DI WILAYAH KULTUR SUNDA (Studi Kasus di Cileunyi). Kata Kunci: Proses Komunikasi, Adaptasi. Perbedaan nilai, budaya, norma, gaya bahasa, dan adab perilaku sosial yang terjadi antara suku alor dan suku sunda menimbulkan masalah ketika antara suku alor dan suku sunda berinteraksi, hal ini membuat suku alor dituntut untuk mampu beradaptasi dengan karakter budaya sunda. Hal yang diteliti adalah proses interaksi antara suku alor dan suku sunda, proses komunikasi suku alor dalam beradaptasi, dan keberhasilan proses adaptasi suku alor terhadap suku sunda. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Anxiety/Uncertainty Management Theory. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, dengan 6 Informan sampel purposive yang diambil melalui teknik Snowball sampling sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perbedaan nilai, tata krama, budaya, gaya bahasa, dan adab perilaku sosial antara suku sunda dan suku alor ketika berinteraksi membuat suku alor dituntut untuk mampu beradaptasi dengan karakter kultur budaya sunda. Langkah – langkah yang dilakukan oleh suku alor antara lain mempelajari bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar, mempelajari bahasa dan kebudayaan sunda, melakukan komunikasi verbal dan non verbal sesuai karakter budaya sunda, mengedepankan budaya pribumi dan mengesampingkan budaya pribadi, serta kemampuan sosialisasi yang baik oleh suku alor terhadap suku sunda. Langkah langkah yang dilakukan tersebut membuat suku alor bisa menyesuaikan secara kognitif, afektif, dan behavioral sesuai dengan karakter dan kultur kebudayaan sunda.

The Differences in values, culture, norms, language style and accent, manners and social behavior that occured between the tribe of Alor and the tribe of Sunda caused problems when the tribes interact each other. This matter made the tribe of Alor need to adapt to the character of Sundanese culture. In this Research we observed interaction process between the tribe of Alor and the tribe of Sunda. Communication strategy of tribe Alor in adaptation, and the success of adaptation process to the tribe of Sunda. The theory which used in this study were anxiety / Uncertainty Management Theory. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method, with a purposive sampel of six informants which taken through Snowball sampling techniques, while the techniques of data collection that used are interviews, observation, and documentation. The result of research showed that differences in values, manners, culture, style, manner and social behavior between the tribe of Alor and the tribe of Sunda when both interact each other, make the tribe of Alor must be able to adapt to the cultural character of Sunda tribe. The strategy which taken by the tribe of Alor is studying and learning Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language) as well, learning the ethnic language of Sunda (Basa Sunda) and cultur of Sunda tribe, doing verbal and non-verbal communications according to the character of Sundanese culture, promoting indigenous culture and lay aside of personal culture, and doing social-interaction by the tribe of Alor to the Sundanese tribe. The strategy which is taken by the tribe of Alor could adapt and adjust the cognitive, afective and behavioral in accordance with the character and cultur of Sundanese culture. |
